My take on the turn in special maps

still rather higher mobs. think scaraba 2 mobs (and those things fiber) on this huge laggy bifrost map. i don't understand the ratio of monsters to the map size at all.
i've done this ti probably more times than anyone and i still hate it but i still do it cause the exp at the end is worth it (unlike the bio3 reward).

^ThisThese turn in maps are fine. There is more to this game then turn ins. Not much but more. Go farm mvps or something it what I've been doing and my biochem is only lvl 93 started out at 80 yesterday. Go lvl alts go do access quest farm your gears or cards for later. Go grind some where. These turn in maps are perfect and do not need any changes from what I have seen

the bifrost map has issues of being laggy and not mobby enough. but i still do it cause i think it's worth it (just bio3 isn't worth it).

The reason behind this is in a TI party, not all the party always gets the Kill Count at the same rate depending on their role, and often it can be +/- 50. If you lose your killers or your priests before the entire party has got it's kill count that party ends up being screwed. It's quite easy for people to go through a portal (and now back to Eden if they have effects off, or simple have a bad landing with gwing lol). The same also goes for DCing on the map (and lets be honest, this has been a problem over the last week). The net result it that you end up with party members that can't finish their kill count - and what makes it worse is if they are on battle manuals when this happens.
I don't think having the TI on these maps are a great idea in the first place (as the players that are most likely to join for just the sake of being in a party are support classes. Killers can go solo level on normal maps as has been the case since renewal started. The net result of these changes is just more parties unable to start due to lack of AB/priests etc). Please remember the TIs were introduced to bring about more 'party play' with the non-soloers in mind. However, if your mind is made up that this is they way it will be from now on then please consider removing the portals (put NPCs on those spots with "do you wish to return to Eden dialogue etc") and making them log out/DC safe.

And the funny thing is... That the AB's who used to be the ones that cried and cried about how people wouldn't "party play", are now the ones who usually leave the TI's first before everyone is done. So really now... This is just stupid.
It's like we're helping AB's, and they don't want to help back. And then cry when we just solo level and leave them ignored.

Huge generalization or Valk specific problem? Not really an issue on Ymir. Having party members getting booted off off the map before your TI is completed, while on a battle manual is an issue however.

Another con I'd like to add is that with people in range not being able to get in after they're done, those that missed out on the TI peak hours start to find it difficult to find parties... on the flip side, peak hours then may become crowded... (which would then extend the length of peak hours if people finished slower in addition to the non-VIP one quest per turn thing - seems to be designed to force people to stay online longer anyways)

The teleprt on DC thing has to stay in due to the nature of these maps. Otherwise there's nothing stopping people from just staying there 24/7.
Well I'm not sure people staying that was the driving force behind the change. Seemed to be that Heim didn't want non-VIP to have warps to a 'normal' map they otherwise would not have had a warp to, hence we we got instance maps that non-VIP are allowed to warp too. (even though the 2 reset stone, mini-VIP was a really good compromise allowing warps to the maps, taking both TIs and Eden buffs - and I'm not sure why they did not stick with it instead of moving to the instance map idea.)

I can understand not wanting people to stick around indefinitely, but for people within the level range there shouldn't be too much problem to let them come and go. Especially on such a mobby map where parties are pretty much necessary... Wasn't promoting party play a part of TI? o_oThe maps for turnins aren't meant to be open to all and to give crazy grind exp to those that just want a busy map, we left the normal maps alone so those grinding players don't need to be interfered with or by the Turnin players. If you aren't on the TI you shouldn't be on the map that is the point. Call it a quest map, if you aren't on the quest get out.

The real problem is people being selfish... Not the maps.

I think this is Valk specific. Our ABs in Ygg aren't friends and scrubs like that.
Solution: tell your ABs when to pop the manual so you all finish at the same time...... If they are using an HE BM, tell them to pop it when you are 14-15 mins of the way on your BMx3.

Exactly. And nothing prevents one from grinding on a non turn-in map. You can even get kill counts on the normal maps and can party on them too.The maps for turnins aren't meant to be open to all and to give crazy grind exp to those that just want a busy map, we left the normal maps alone so those grinding players don't need to be interfered with or by the Turnin players. If you aren't on the TI you shouldn't be on the map that is the point. Call it a quest map, if you aren't on the quest get out.
This solution frees up the regular maps for people who would rather just solo grind without worrying about being KSed by GWing parties. It's best to keep turn-ins and grinding separate, and to discourage people from thinking that these two should be equivalent.
I agree with lainee that removing all entrance portals could potentially be a good idea (then again it might not be, I don't know). Then buterfly wing, warp portal, or logout become the methods of leaving the map.

This coming from myself, a 7 year support (priest/HP, then finally AB) class, ABs are NOT what they used to be. I remember when most priests could tell players of other classes things they didn't even know about their own classes! It's very rare I find an AB on par with the old days, and I cherish the few I do find, I'll tell you. (You have to TELL somebody to stat recover on frozen people? Really now?! =.=)I think this is Valk specific. Our ABs in Ygg aren't friends and scrubs like that.

On the flipside though, many people on valk, specially TI party leaders, are just as bad to ABs. AB says they need SP, leader keeps gwinging, AB uses epiclesis to regain SP, leader gwings 2 seconds later when they're IN FULL VIEW OF THE SKILL. Or, the best one, the leader, or other party members, tell the ABs they should have SP recovery items for places like thors where they get bleeding. You know what? You go buy me some or **** you. There's two sides to every story. When you're supporting a party like that, no way in hell you're sticking around after the TI is done.

Just need to replace the portals with NPCs that can warp back to eden, that way there would be no accidental exits before all the party has completed its kill counts.

We had this before but people abused it by staying in the TI map before another quest can be acquired. Basically, they were using the TI even after they passed their level range.

And this is a bad thing.....how? Means more people on the map? Well so what? It's the weekly event map there's GOING to be loads of people. I don't get why everyone shouldn't be allowed to port to the maps regardless of being in range and what not. If the spawns are increased (which they seem to be on most of the instance maps) and the re-spawns are instant (which they pretty much seem to be) then where's the issue? Soloers can still grind on the normal maps w/o being affected by winging parties. And soloers/low man parties should understand if ur grinding on a TI map, after your TI is up, expect to see a lot of gwinging peeps and other parties fly in and possibly accidentally KS you.
