Well I am in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and I can't get on either for long.

Well I was doing the daily quests on my 3 accounts for the login rewards and only managed to do 2 of 3 before it messed up again today.

You know this is why I have not really played at all in the last month. Every time I try to play it is or shortly goes down and I don't feel like just hanging around waiting for it to go back up. I end up playing something else and just don't bother coming back that day.

but i did not "excessively log in" (although thats a very vage numeral adjective to be responsible for an IP bann)


i tried it twice after dc and then went for a server status site and facepalmed.
thought it might be fixed after 2 hours but nope.

Only reason why i want to log on today is to play WoE today since Saturday was cancelled. What is up with this Failed to Connect stuff while other are able to connect. Not to mention, i paid VIP for this account and and 3 others as well. What is the use of having 2x drop event or being VIP if you can not even access the game? The only thing i am happy about now is finishing MVP summoning before this crap happened again.

I've never done WoE before. I know it's the big server-wide PvP event for the guild castles, right? What was it like before, as opposed to the way it is now? And why would that change make people angry?

It looks like some people are allowed on but my IP ranges may still be blocked completely and cannot log on at all.

The main issue I see with targetting single IPs is that you're probably going to hit a dorm building somewhere where a few dozen people play and only one is infected, and you'll be banning the whole building to stop that one guy. This could potentially even ban an entire guild if it's a group of on campus friends.

You may also end up banning a few random coffee shops, net cafes, and well... pretty much anything else with public wifi because someone's infected laptop played there.

That being said, with your available staff and resources, this may be the only realistic option in the short term. I just hope the bans are cleared in the long run... banning entire colleges because one idiot downloaded an infected bot can't be good for the game's population.
