Dark Mercenary System

-After obtaining a Dark Mercenary Summon Item, summon a mercenary that will assist you in combat for a period of 1 day.

-Repeatable Scrolls Quests

• Obtain scroll quests from Leslie (Head of Dark Mercenaries) in Plaza of Tolerance, Nova Lux.
• The targets of these scroll quests are new "Boss" type Terrifying Nightmare Monsters that can be found in the same locations as normal Nightmare Monsters on all maps.
• Completing the quest will reward you with Lant and [Dark Mercenary's Emblem]s. Higher level quests reward you with more [Dark Mercenary Emblem]s.
• These scroll quests can be completed once per day.

-Hire a Mercenary

• Quests available from Leslie are used in order to obtain a Mercenary Summon Item.
• In order to complete the quest, you need the appropriate number of [Dark Mercenary's Emblem]s that you receive from the scroll quests.
• When completing the quest, you will receive 1 of 3 grades (at random) of each Mercenary (Recruit, Experienced, and Veteran), each grade varies in HP, STR and other stats.
• Once you receive a summon item, it will expire in 1 day.
• These "hire" quests can be repeated once per day.

-Terrifying Nightmare Monsters

• New Nightmare Monsters that can be found during Nightmare Hours on normal maps.
• Other than these monsters being targets for the Dark Mercenary Quests, Terrifying Nightmare Monsters have a chance of dropping a Cellular Sample.

-Cellular Samples

• Non-Upgradable Transformation Ornaments with basic stats that are applied when equipped.
• Compoundable with Basic Enchant Xeons into Cell Nucleus with a focused stat. (Depending on the Enchant Xeons used)
• Cell Nuclei have stronger stats, Random Stats, and Increased Stats when reinforced.

Revamps are available by compounding just basic Red Enchant Xeons, higher grades need more xeons.

Do these mercenaries work in battlegrounds?
Are they able to pick up loot or do they just fight like dominators/avengers pets?
What about their stats and powers? Is their dmg worth it or are they just pretty accessoires?
Do they have abilities like buffs or AOEs?
What about the female number V mercenary?


how does the transformations of the new ornaments look like ?
and why do the lvl70+ ornaments just have 7enchant slots and not 8 ?


what about the secret temple minidungeon or the flying mount, you keep it for another "big" update before christmas, so that the rest of the year doesnt seem to be empty ?

what can we expect for 2013 then ?

ornaments r like nm jewels, get some ingredients and u can make an ornament that fits to ur favourite stats - transformations are said in the ss , like this exi ornament will transform u in a robber specter

this opens quite new options for pvp change equip etc, maybe with dmg / con / scc or con / def / res

Cell Nuclei part sounds interesting, hope drop rate of samples isn't too crazy. Also hoping none of the "korean camping deadlys" bs all over again like what I always see people QQ about.

Not much in terms of updates this week, but there are some significant updates coming next week including new repeatable scrolls with new target monsters with new drops. More details available later.

It looks like someone in gravity plays everquest, the merc highering system is the exact same, the use the same stupid pet AI.

The ords seem interesting but i bet the rates for reinf hitting 90% for the 1st and you may get to 5 without an event, hoping it doesnt break form 0 -> 1

these models were in our folders since years. one of the first models ever. they were supposed to be mobs/npcs. guess gravity discovered them again and decided to make them mercenaries

there are still a few other unused models in the game folder. I wonder how gravity will use them one day too

would be amazing if they got any skills, like a taunt or heal or w/e . but simply pet would be boring, they need some special effects
or make it op equibable, like in d2 , where ur merc can kill evrything alone ehehehe

ET balls will still be superior due to their many resistances. and they havea lot more crit rate.
