Incompatibility with Avast Antivirus, the game will not run if Avast is on and the ragnarok and classic's exe files are not on the safe list:
Sorry for reposting this in a new topic it keeps getting asked over and over and getting lost in the process
With Ragnarok and Avast I found the permanent fix for the issue:-
Right Click the Avast Orange Icon and click open avast! user interface.
Click REAL-TIME SHIELDS
Click Expert Settings
Click Trusted Processes
click the empty line then click browse and browse to the ragnarok folder on your harddrive
choose ragexe for valkyrie, Yggdrasil, and Ymir
choose clragexe for Classic (Loki)
For those of you that are having problem saving your settings or getting the "infinite loop of setup.exe"
- Run your Ragnarok client as administrator.
For those of you that can't dual client on Renewal servers
- Patch Renewal first and exit, then patch Classic and exit, then run Renewal again.
For those of you that receive "Failed to get.." message while patching
- Download the file you are stuck @ through this and place them in your RO folder and patch again. Repeat this process until you can finish patching.
ok the thumbs file is a system file so you have to untick hide system file
restart the computer
diable the antivirus for 10 minutes or what ever the smallest available is
run the client
it will say ragnarok.exe has changed
now load ^^

Probably best to reset your folder and system file setting and turn your antivirus straight on once its working (we dont wont a virus after as well)
Avast* real-time Behavior Shield prevents Ragexe.exe and clragexe.exe from executing cause it thinks they are a malware. Depending on your Avast ver, you can fix this problem by adding Ragexe.exe and clragexe.exe to the Trusted Process list under Behavior Shield Settings.
*Note this is for Avast Free Antivirus 7.0.

Delete the Gravity Folder.
Uninstall RO.
Re-install RO.
Patch as Admin without any anti-virus.
Patch Classic.
It worked for me after - no issues. I had no client mods, RCX, anything of that sort and I kept getting the message over and over. You HAVE to delete the previous Gravity folder or this will not work.
If a solution was posted before this sorry, I got tired after 8 pages and tl;dr the rest.
