We still need more data! Keep those posts coming!

Let's try to get a feel for the chances for the different enchantments with the new malangdo enchantment system.

If at all possible, please post all the results you got, and how many times you got it. Results for first and second slot should be reported separately. Also include the item you were enchanting, what coins you used, and what option you picked (if using A-Class/ALF)

I'll start:

Hurricane Fury
A-Class coins (Pricing is 4/8/12/24/40/60 coins)
Long Range

First slot:
Sharp 2 - 3x
Sharp 3 - 1x
Agi +2 - 4x
Agi +4 - 2x
Exp Archer 2 - 1x
Exp Archer 4 - 1x

Second slot:
Agi +3 - 2x (waaaah!)

Fortune Sword
E-Class coins (Pricing is 2/4/6/12/20/30 coins)
First slot: +6 def
Second slot: +6 def

Grimtooth
A-Class coins (Pricing is 1/2/3/6/10/15 coins)
Melee
First slot: +3 agi
Second slot: Sharp 2


Useful calculations - Cost of coin types in KP (assuming you start with silvervine, and get average luck when degrading)

From 10 silvervine fruit you can get:
28 A-Class at cost of 3.57kp/ea
78 B-Class at cost of 1.28kp/ea
220 C-Class at cost of 0.45kp/ea
615 D-Class at cost of 0.162kp/ea
1720 E-Class at cost of 0.058kp/ea - Note that EClass coins are currently named "DClass coin" just like the real D-Class coins)

Now, above note that coin costs are a multiple of 1/2/3/6/10/15 coins. If we multiply that in we get the cost per attempt:


A-Class 7.14kp * cost multiplier
B-Class 3.84kp * cost multiplier
C-Class 2.72kp * cost multiplier
D-Class 1.62kp * cost multiplier
E-Class 0.87kp * cost multiplier

Note that the cost of resetting the enchantments is really high...

I don't recall how many times I tried exactly, but I must have burned 3K to get ExpertArcher 4 and ExperterArcher 3 on my +12 Kingbird Imperial Spear.

From what I tested when I was enchanting all the Enchanting information from this link seems to be correct. Although Spell 5 is currently bugged to not show a name upon receiving it so Spell 6 may be bugged as well.

This isn't useful - the list on iRO Wiki is correct. I'm trying to collect a list of ALL the results you've gotten and HOW OFTEN YOU GET THEM.

Not just the final enchants you decided to keep. See my first post for an example of what i'm trying to get.


My dream is to be able to say something like "With AClass coins, and the Long Range option, you get +2 agi 10% of the time, sharp 2 5% of the time" and so on - but that requires recording every result, not just the good ones.

from doing it quite a bit I can say that it seems mostly random but the higher enchants (say +4 int as opposed to +2 int) are less likely, and the best enchants like +5 int, spell 5, and ASPD+1 are very, very, very rare.

Caster Type, A Class coins (moonie dagger - making a DB knife - moonie dagger is actually really good for DB damage, esp if you have a bryn, since +SP effects are multiplied by +% sp effects)
First enchant:

Dex +2 x4
Dex +3 x1
Int +2 x3
Int +4 x5

Int +5 x1
Spell 2 x4
Spell 3 x4
Spell 4 x1
Spell 5 x1
Magic 1 x1

Second Enchant:

Dex +2 x1
Dex +3 x5
Int +4 x1
Spell 2 x1
Spell 4 x1

That cost FAR TOO MUCH for what I made.


Ranged, on Longhorn and Gungnir (so much better than my luck with HF - but sample size is too small to say there's a difference)

First:
Agi +3 x1
Agi +4 x1
Expert Archer 2 x2
Expert Archer 3 x2


Second:
Agi +3 x1
Expert Archer 3 x2
Agi +2 x1

In order to know which Caster Enchant it is, check your Matk in your status screen. It'll correspond to the level of the Spell enchant's Matk increase.

Has anyone noticed that different kinds of weapons seem to have better (or worse) luck with enchants?

Enchanting these 2 coin per try 1hand spears, it's raining expert archer. I spent a fortune trying to get Exp Archer on my 8 coin per try HF and it was horrible. I sure _hope_ there isn't, because that would make tabulating results much harder. Maybe i just had bad luck on my HF. I hope that's it.

I only enchanted it once since I was happy with the result. Oh, and this was with Grade A Coins.

Azzy, is +200 SP knife (sadly it's on my Fortune Knife) good for DB RK? Or would you use a -20% reduc moon dagger instead?
Also, isn't the Cost Multiplier for combat knife wrong on the irowiki page? It takes me 4 Grade A Coins per try on a combat knife...thats a Cost Multiplier of 2. It also takes 4 Grade A coins for my fortune knife. Or is it bugged on my character o.O?
Also, I've gotten Magic 1 from Grade A Coins on TsOD, it's just as rare as spell 5.

+600 Dragon's Breath Damage vs -20% Variable Cast Time decide for yourself which is better.

No - the cost multiplier is 2, you multiply the base cost for the type of coin you're using by that (that's why I call it a "multiplier")
In the case of A class coins, the base cost is 2, and 2x2 = 4.

Thanks - that's helped a lot. The lists I got are ordered by how many coins they take, but the number wasn't listed, so this let me fill in WAY MORE than just the weapons listed.

Right now you have to cross-reference two charts and scroll up and down a whole lot to look at the weapons, and there is a lot of ugly dead space on the right.

a sortable table like this might be more user friendly. Someone could click weapons column to sort by weapon type.

Oh, I see - that would be a lot more usable - but that's well beyond what I know how to do in the wiki. My knowledge of wiki-markup is pretty basic.

Oh yeah I was right, it was just that the time I posted it, the iro wiki page showed CK had a cost multiplier of 4, so I knew it was wrong =p But by the time you replied it changed back to 2 already
