i wonder if RO2 will ever have a PK channel? PK channel usually gives out additional bonuses such as extra EXP and drop rate on that specific channel but with risks of being killed by other players. maybe implement hero / killer status too? or just simple old PK channel. carnage and fun.

woe map is not fun (for me) because everyone can see you on the minimap. i prefer a regular PK channel where we can grind and do stuff (and sometimes kill prey~ huehue). being confined into a single map where guilds will gangbang you just because you're harvesting grass is not my definition of fun.

But the latter is exactly the reason why players want a PK channel.... they want to be the ones who "gangbang" others while they grind / level up or like to look for a favorable situation where they have the upper hand (higher level, target distracted, etc.). So why wouldn't you want to do that on WoE or Greedy Mine?

If you get annoyed while being PKed while doing grass or killing mobs for daily quest, then imagine if you are grinding. Lol. They dont have to kill you they can just get your HP down so the PVE mobs can kill you and viola previous grinded MP lost. At least when youre at WoE map you can see the DOT so you can at least prepare in case someone jumps on you( except for stealth of course :U ).
The only gameplay you got right now is PvP, every PvE content is a joke. What we need right now is a solid PvE content that would keep our interest rather than afk and PvP 24/7. I do hang out at WoE map with my assassin and i dislike PKing people unless they bully others who are only there for grass or quests and think that they own the map or something. In my opinion, WoE maps( Prontera and Morroc ) and Greedy Mines are good enough PK maps. Just my two cents.

The player has an option to choose channels right??!? When he wants to grind, why would he go to a PK Channel?
Some of us(including me), just want to have fun and wreck havoc especially when after too much Grinding.
The current PK maps are usually inhabited by Guild campers. Some are good and others just kill you randomly. However, these maps show you exactly where your enemies are and where you are. And as a thrillseeker, I don't find that appealing.
In a PK Server, you can either be a good guy or a bad guy. It is totally awesome to become a Bounty Hunter and be able to kill all these abusive villains(another way to make some zenny).
I also find it better if the players are not detected on the map to add more fun and you can feel more like a stealthy assassin etc.
With a PK Channel, the area is much wider!(compared to a single map) and you can also choose to grind there(if you are a risktaker). hahahaha!

Cloaked characters like assassins are hidden on the minimap... The red dots are a disadantage for all the other characters.
Adding new PvP maps (by making the whole channel10 a PK arena) makes no real sense at all... those would 'spread' the PvP addicted too much and are useful only for low-level characters, which further encourages unbalanced situation. At least you have to be lvl50 to enter the current PvP maps.

And make people lose MP on those channels too. :3
I think we played the same online game before. That Online Game has some PK Channels wherein when you kill someone, the victim loses exp, however, your name turns red and you will be in the Bounty List. When you are killed and had a red name, your money as well as some of your equips will drop and the bounty hunter will get them as loot. weee!

What Greven is saying is that adding a PK Channel does not make sense but you are pointing it out that makes it look like you are supporting his post then you are saying something else.. Im like..wha..i dont even..w-wha..
I would understand what youre saying if you are saying about a PvP map but a whole channel for PvP is unnecessary in my opinion. Big guilds would be the one that will dominate the area and small guilds will be camped. Yes, im aware its a whole channel. But eventually people will cross each others path and thats what the channel is for, for PvP.

What I meant was that his arguments can be used for suggestions.
If none of the characters are shown, it will be hard to impossible to find anyone except for specific high value spots. Then of course, it won't be different to the current Greedy Mine or the WoE daily spots. So how many do you need?
The current WoE encounters outside the real sieges work like this:
Assassin / rogue sees a red dot on map
Hides & moves there
Deals 65k damage with Cross Impact
End of combat
+1 frustrated player who tried to farm grass
The truth is that I've only encountered only a handful occations where a group / guild attacked a lone farmer. The much more common case is that a single stealth character wants to try his luck on killing with the first strike. Preferrably against single targets, but also against small groups - since there is no counter to hide. No matter if he dies afterwards, as long as he took someone with him.
And let me guess what's your class...

I hate PK channels. Okay, i let it out of my system, now we can continue.
Everything that can go wrong with a PK channel is summarized by Greven's post. What do you care if you can't see other players in a map? We already know where people usually goes to, grinding spots, afk spots, daily quests. People will just camp them and kill you as you try to get anything done there.
And what will "non-campers" (if they exist) do? Roam around the maps trying to find someone to kill? or will they end up going to the same spots camped by others to camp and kill campers?
So much thrill, wow. sounds really fun indeed.
I hated a certain game because it had ONLY pvp servers, and you couldn't even quest or level up because PK players were always there, ready to kill newbies for no reason. If they were to make a PK channel here, it would be just the same as WoE is already, just replace the "spawn spot camp" with "Grind/Quest spot camp".
Also, it's sad that those requesting this kind of channel themselves are saying "I want to play villain", "i want to wreak havoc", "feel like a stealthy assassin", that basically means "i want to kill people when they can't do anything to defend themselves"

Imho, Go for this suggestion once the long delayed re-balance for other class has been implemented.
Yes! The problem here is BALANCE. To tell you honestly, it's kinda hard to be a Ranger nowadays. They NERFED the class. Playing as a visible Priest is better even though there are greater risks of being attacked in PK areas.
Actually, my point is. The PK channel can be an option. No one is forcing you to go there if ever it will be implemented.
Some people here might have had bad experiences with PK channels but there is no comparison because like he said, ALL were PK channels. He had no option. And what is wrong with playing around? This is a game isn't it?
There is no point in arguing, some of us just want to express our views. Just chiiiill....

The idea is good but as several players mentioned it, sins/rogue i pass for rangers since they're not over powered,but put your gaze on sins mostly, many "Kikoolol" will enjoy this map being hidden and instantly cross impact or something else.
The fact of bringing a PK channel is very intresting but with some restrictions it'll be nicer. one of the suggestion would be that the "hide mode" should be forbiden, i can already feel the sins raging of that suggestion but many of them proved that sins without hide is really strong as well.

BUT!
Fix class balance first lol... remove or reduce priest stun/lower Battle tactics/rescale DoT for most class coz it still using the Pre-AoV skill %dmg modifier(cept priest)/rebalance cross impact (700% for a normal/semi spammable skill is just OP... even caster class only have 400-500$ on their normal skills that has cast time ><) -............... ok no more rants hahaha
