For discussion of builds based around the skill Swirling Petals (also known as Launch Huuma Shiruken and Huuma Shiruken Ranka). I will be gathering up build advice posted on the forums and putting it into the top post.

Launch Huuma Shuriken

Target: Ground
AoE Size: 7x7 Splash
Damage Formula Type: Weapon / Percentage
Number of Hits: 5 Sub Hits

Fixed Cast: 0 Seconds
Variable Cast: 0.8 + 0.2 * Skill LV Seconds
Cooldown: 3 Seconds

Damage Formula In %: Caster's AGI + Caster's DEX + 150 * Skill Level Used + 100 * Throw Huuma Shuriken

I've been using this skill as a primary means of leveling so I have a little bit of insight. My suggestion as far as skills is to start by getting Swirling Petal 5, Earth Talisman 1, then Pure Soul 5 followed by 16th Night 3. There's no reason to get any higher than level 3 since at that level, duration of the buff = duration of cooldown. Cast time reduction doesn't seem to be effected by level, just the duration of the buff, and you can recast it before it runs out anyway. As for stats, you're going to want fairly high STR and DEX for damage and hit respectively. Despite the in game skill description, AGI and DEX do not (as of yet) add any kind of significant damage to Swirling Petal, so for leveling purposes, AGI is pretty much useless. I'll add more later when I have more time.

Well, then that formula is accurate isn't it? Skill's damage mod is 1250+agi+dex %, so the addition of agi is pretty small.

Any reasonable weapon/armor advice for a lvl 102 using swirling petal?

You'll probably want to go with a highly upgraded Huuma Calm Mind with 2 Archer Skel cards until you get to 110. The one nice thing about the Huuma Calm Mind is that it seems to give phen effect without the cast time increase. As for armor...it's kind of up to you. Just go with what you feel will help you survive most.

Slight amendment to 16th night. If by chance you get 16th night beyond level 3 DO NOT RECAST BEFORE IT RUNS OUT. 16th Night does not refresh upon recast. The previous cast will wear off and you'll have to wait out the cooldown from the recast

Yeah, this is the main reason I say you only need to get level 3. The buff timer is literally the exact same amount of time as the cooldown timer, so there's no chance that you'll accidently recast before it runs out.

I'm sure it will work fine. AS is just the ideal is all. Eventually you'll want to get a couple.

Actually this is a good place to ask...Would a Howard card be good to use? Or is there a better way to increase your Hit?

Why are you trying to increase hit on skills that do not miss?

So you're saying that AGI isn't all too important for Swirling Petals? Because I'm a Kunai Explosion build, but I'm pretty poor lmfao. So I'm just rocking a Huuma for damage, and I think Swirling Petals would be fun to try out. I'm willing to explore Kagerou a little bit, as I still have my free reset. :3

as far as I know, AGI and DEX have equal weight in the formula.

They weight equally, but for Swirling Petal Stat build you would want to go Str/Dex first before Agi because the attack modifier from Str will increase your damage more than compared to going completely Agi/Dex build.

That is more or less common sense. 5000% of nothing is nothing.

I'm kind of feeling like I should reset... I don't know. I'm 117 / 21 and I've got... 106 str, 14 agi, 70 vit, 20 int, 70 dex, and 50 luk. I'm currently working on maxing Swirling Petals, still using my Kunai Explosion.

AGI/DEX boost is incorrect. It's not in brackets, so it should give +1% Atk modifier for each AGI/DEX increased. Unless there is some hidden mechanic in play that is...

EDIT: Sorry, was looking only at damage formula and value. If what was written in the table is right, then the damage formula should be:

(DEX + AGI + 150) * Skill Level Used + 100 * Throw Huuma Shuriken Level

If said value above rings true, table is correct but formula is wrong.

My understanding is that that is NOT supposed to be in brackets, which is consistent with reports from players indicating that agi has a very small impact on damage.

It's a huge difference between these two formulas... (assuming 100 dex/agi it's 1450% vs 2250%).... since we have people with kag/obo with this skill, it's trivial to find out how this works. Just simplify the situation (neutral weapon, no upgrades, no gear other than weapon), and swirling petal a poring or something. Then work the damage back, or if you're not comfident in your math, post stats + weap + damage and one of us can work it back - you don't even have to be careful with the math, because the difference is so huge. The formula with parens does 50% more damage!

On a related note - I've seen screenshots of low level Kag/Obo doing 20k swirling petals w/out endow (40k with).

My Kag/Obo is doing only 10k w/out endow - level 100.

What am I doing wrong?

105 total str
80 total dex
rest vit/int
(haven't reset from pre-renewal kunai build)

+9 2x AS Huuma Calm Mind
+9 HBP
+9 Sag Crown
+12 Superior Bangy Boots
Porcellio armor

Correct. I was operating under the assumption that I expressed above, that there are no parenthesis around the Dex + agi + 150 part, and hence agi should add a very small amount of damage.

Nobody has yet posted any data that would let me assess the accuracy of that assumption, but most of the posts I've read, people said things like "I got a bunch of agi, and the damage barely changed", which supports the no-parenthesis theory.

Someone should reset a Kagerou / Oboro and slowly add DEX/AGI and see how the damage changes. Someone experienced who knows how to scientifically test the skills (like yourself~) and verify the formula. I wrote the wiki article based on Rytech's data, so there is room for correction.
