I cannot say I agree to a full stat reset, there have been plenty of arguments in the past against it. I'm too tired to pull them all out and link them here. But at this point I suppose nobody cares.

I'd rather have a full reset than no reset at all.  They tried to make 20 pts work.  It just won't, not without kRO's help.

Yes full reset is best I've messed up on two of my chars builds it saves me a lot of time then having to remake them

RE: The new implementation of the Seals Quest. 

 

What happens if no single guild is able to collect 50 of each Seals token? The entire god item quest hangs indefinitely?

You know in regards to a full stat reset; some time back I would have been against it in it's entirety . But the more I play RO as of late, the more and more obvious how things have changed become. If I played less, I'd probably be stuck in the old "levelling means something; choices should need careful research; hard builds should be earned" mentality.

 

The truth is, none of this can really work every again. Why?

 

Other games. Way back then, other games required a lot of commitment, just as RO did/does. But now there are many games that require little time investment. This paired up with a generation of instant gratification and then the older population of RO generally not having time makes this a pretty bad combination.

You will find almost nobody who played from way back when who has the time they once did. Unfortunately this is the type of player Classic appeals to.

 

And then there's the thing that makes RO, RO.

 

One of the big reasons you find people drawn to classic is the way stats work. But it's RO, you have absolute freedom. That's what is amazing about RO compared to other games. Total control and freedom over your stats. Unless you mess up or wanna try something new. Then you lose that freedom.

 

A stat reset with at least a 3 month cooldown would really add a lot of extra variety to the game. It would also be helpful for the few newbies Classic does pick up along the way. Unlike the rest of us, there are people out there who are still learning. Plus as WoE meta shifts, it would help all those people who can barely find time to log on for one WoE a week, let alone level new chars.

 

3 months is a long time in RO. A lot happens, a lot can be missed or gained.

 

I say this as a guildleader who has watched almost all their players "too busy" to level their chars, make new chars and had to level them for them. All those people who can't even just log in to enjoy WoE because their character was once suitable, but now isn't. And all those people who don't have time and/or can't be assed to get 99/70.

 

It'd be so much better in the long run. I can't think of a single reason to argue against a long-cooldown reset other than "I levelled up hill in the snow both ways" and "Character time investment should be rewarding" - and the latter doesn't apply unless you get it perfect first time. It's also irrelevant because Turn ins/mercenaries/thors.

What's one of the ticket numbers? The tickets should only be closing if they GMs ask for a response and don't hear back from you on a reply attached to the existing ticket.

As I understand it, the seals can be finished after they've reached 100, so creation would sit open until someone quests their little butt off.

Yes but the character would have to run through all 4 seal quests and be leveled up as there are no plans to allow for a quest reset.

Exactly, and I was aiming for 3 for 1.... but I slept through seal 4.

Excuse me CMs Oda and Campitor, will it be possible for you to introduce the Slotting Advertisement and implement the Slot Enchant NPC Troy? Perhaps you can add the Slotting Advertisement into the next Groove Pack as one of its random prize as well.

Greetings Everyone! Today is a supposed to be a big patch day for the classic server. Today we were ready to put in the major changes to the seals quests and god item creation. However, we took a step back and realized that were kind of rushing into this, and rushing into things is how we get into trouble. So instead what we are doing today is releasing the PVP combat portion of the creation process for testing.

 

An NPC in prontera will take you to the arena. Players can join as a guild leader, or as a guild member (npc will let you choose your role). Then you can run through the event to see how it plays out. We wish to encourage you to try the event for yourself and give us feedback. Next week if no major issues are found we will do the full switch over. 

 

For this week please try to break this in every way you can imagine, and let us know what happened so we can fix it.
