It's sad because I know people are leaving, yet there are still 3,500+ characters logged into Valk... so I you know that 75% of them are bots

Lag spike experienced at *********. The spike was for over a minute. I'm getting frustrated at repeated dying and exp/buff loss. Solution is necessary.

6.45pm eastern 129.50.4.170 300+ms ping

6.40pm eastern 204.2.170.50 Router 15% packet loss

6.30pm Eastern 129.250.6.42 40% packet loss

Seriously tell your isp to replace there -_-ing routers, or your termination the contract for a better isp, cause this lag and dcing is becoming a really annoying joke

Just started to lag spike again in the middle of leveling. 20% away from Job 70 and had to force close my Client hoping that I didn't die.

the main issue for me (and others) isn't the lag per say, it's the packet loss which leads to spikes. If it was always laggy it wouldn't feel as bad but the fact that it stutters over and over again makes it worse.

I ran a tracert myself and ever single line for ntt.net (u know, grav's isp) had a timeout on it.

Ever since the line was cut a couple of weeks ago, the lag spikes has been crazy horrible. My guess is that NTT did a crap job getting it fixed because i've never had this consistent lag spikes ever in RO.

P.S. when account xpires, i'm done, not worth playing in this kind of conditions imho

First I would like to thank the GMs ever since last night when I forwarded the team my tracert as requested, the last 5 hops (ms) on average did go down by about 20ms though they are still nowhere near the 130-150 or below that they need to be in order for me to play without spikes and disconnections and general jittery lag.

However that aside there is major issue atm with the isanca hops still mainly hop 17 which is spiking around 290-320 on average. Which as mentioned before is far past the bareable limit of 150 which is lag free on my end or the 180 which is still laggy but bareable just.

I attached all the information I can get in this *spoiler* link. Also if you simply google the hop name listed as the major cuase in my information it comes up with page after page of them being the cause of lag not just on iRO and not just this week or month.

Spoiler

Hmm it may be the case that around 180 is the best I can get from iRO while using NTT in which case I guess I'll just have to live with it (or not whichever I decide) until they either upgrade their network in the problem areas/cities. 180 is bareable however as it stand right now its all over place from 180-300+ on hop 17 and 16 is iffy too. If by some chance someday all last 5 hops got down to below 150ms I would be over the moon with joy. Can't see it happening though as it's out of your hands really tbh in what NTT do in the grand scheme of things regarding their network. I miss Cogentco, never would have though I'd hear myself say that.

Anyways I don't expect you can really do much about this issue even with all the tracerts in the world but if it is of any help then I'm glad.
I got no hard feelings against iRO staff I find them to be really nice people and always try their best to please people me included, I just wish the world didn't seem to be against you so much with regard to client/server/ISP and things that are out of your control. I actually feel bad when I post my problems with regards to this lag issue because I think your such nice fellows but I have to do it else nothing may get better in the long run even if it does cuase you a little stress for which I apologize.

Where up to 6 NTT routers randomly have packet loss coming from the east coast.

128.241.93
204.2.170.50
204.1.253.102
129.250.6.45
129.250.5.24
Every router above
has normal 98 ~ 130ms ping Which is huge jump from the previous router and of late the can spike as high as 300ms

129.250.2.9 Normal 25ms ping
All these router are NTT and all of them have random packet loss ranging from 14% to 80%

Top tier ISP my ass if they where problems would be going away not more and more Routers getting packet loss, Seriously the problem might be your ISP end but Gravity is gona be the one to suffer more with people quitting , Cause way I see it we are right on track for a year ending in cascade of problems just like last year ended, and mind you last years issue didnt go away till atleast 2 month in the the year.

Well all the reports have helped us figure out that we actually have 2 seperate issues. 1. Is the latency, that seems to be caused by a router near our servers, and 2 the disconnects that do still seem to be an ISP issue that they are going to be working on again this Thursday.

The good news is, we are making a change today that should help with the latency, as the router is near enough that we can do something about it.

Is anyone else having trouble logging on/staying logged on after the "special maintenance"? After I log onto my account, my character just stays frozen.

A friend is saying she is lagging on RO right now as well.

well now, the lag is gone, but replaced with disconnection & rejection from server

Y does iRO gets worse than ever? :\ so sad that when changes has been applied people would thought it's going to be awesome yet it's actually the opposite.

Between 3pm and 8pm PST has just been constant pockets of lag for me. It'll clear up for a few minutes and then bam! another spike.

This is even worse than the spiking I had yesterday before maint.

This is where I always play from.
