hey man, i am a level 50 job high thief. is it still effective to try out this DD crit thing? i'm a returnee player. back in the day, katar was the sh*t. but now, all i see is DD gx even in woe. i feel like katar damage can't compare to DD crit. any input on this madhatter? a reply will be so much appreciated. TIA

DD DA still very very strong. Also RC GX is really good. Katar will only be better once we get better equips/katars on future updates.

There is Juliette de Rachel wich will be the strongest one, and Crimson katar, wich gives bonus attack as for refine x refine, up to +15( ex:+12 = 12×12=144atk)

My main GX is DD DA / Katar Crit build having a fixed 120 LUK. Whenever I decide to do MVPing via DD DA there are times that I crit a lot but still not 100%.

I personally called my build as DD DA Non-Pure Crit   There's also a DD DA Non-Crit where you stack on STR, AGI and DEX points

AFAIK , Angeling Wooly Hat provides flat atk and matk bonus and proc to increase aspd by 2 then EMH has a good atk% bonus + 10 crit . Depending on you build's needs either one might work but I suggest to use EMH instead if you are to go pure DD. Otherwise , get +11~12 WDEH

I'm building towards my DD Crit GX and I have a couple of questions:

 

1) Which main hand wins between a Memory Knife[AK] vs. Scalpel[3xAK], assuming equal refine rating on both weapons . And independent of the winner, is the damage difference a big one?

 

2) Is Cenere Card a viable option to reach 193 ASPD or it will gimp me too much in my defense capabilities?

 

3) Does Eddga Hat wins by a lot compared to an Isabella taking into account that I'll be using a Petal + Angra Mantis Card if wearing the later?

1) Scalpel wins. rwc is lvl 3 weapon, has 1 slot and low atk. The difference is big on small and medium size. For big, scalpel would still win.

 

2) Only if you are reallly struggling to have 193 aspd. I wouldn't recommend it.

Could you elaborate a bit on why Cenere is so bad, please?

 

Just for reference this is the setup I had in mind:

 

-> +12 Eddga

-> Free Mid Slot

-> Adv. Assassin Mask

-> Sapha's 15+ Crit

-> +9 Temp. Luk Boots AD/LD

-> +9FAW Fatal10 [Cenere]

-> 2x Bako Tattoos

 

This would net me 193 and 120 Crit (can go higher). Any suggestions to improve the setup is greatly appreciated.

It's not bad..but 24% additional crit dmg from petal is too much to pass on. I have +9faw fatal6 aspd1 (petal card).

 

Your setup is good. I'd add few things to optimize it

 

- Nab cloth atk%/FS to further increase your dmg

- +9 faw with petal

- 2 rwc rings fs/atk% or luk glove with gold scaraba

 

The dmg increase will be noticeable. But you will need more than aspd potions. That's one of the main reasons Crit dd can be expensive. In addition to your gears, expensive foods and buffs to maximize your dps.

 

But I think you can go with your current setup just fine. Swap to dmg wise gears when you need. Most people do that.
