The intention of this post was not to "nerf" the FS cleric. The intention of this post was to come up with some ideas as to what is wrong and what is right with playing a FS cleric right now. Trust me, after playing 10 years or so I know all of the "nerfs" that the cleric has been through. My storage still has all the gear I have had to get over the years for each change.
Sorry about that, i didn't exactly mean this thread was for nerfing cleric.
I agree with Feuer (hey it can happen) on one part, maybe buffs for all classes are too strong right now, but this is for clerics. I constantly hear (and have for years) that one class having so much control over the game (buffs mostly) is bad. It was not until I played some other games lately that I saw how detrimental having to rely on one class can be to the overall balance of the game and the PVP games that we have. In many other games the healing class heals. They have some buffs, self and party, but so do all the other classes. All contribute to the good of the group. A number of the buffs are redundant, maybe 2 classes have def buff, etc. so that teams can be mixed and matched. Leo developed more buffs for each class to try to distribute buffs out so that if there is not a cleric around then a combination of party buffs from the other classes would help the group. But because everyone is so dependent on the cleric to have all of the buffs no one got them unless it was to put on a stat buffer. Unless people are forced to get the class party buffs by taking some of the buffs from the clerics then they will never use them for the group. I love how people say ....but I don't want to lose AP by putting SP in a buff. But that is exactly what the FS cleric does. We have to make sure that however we distribute our SP we get all of the party buffs. And on top of that, we need to get our charm maxed or get yelled at. So I really don't agree with decrease the FS cleric buffs to level 1 or nerf them. Other classes would still rely on the FS cleric to have all of the buffs; everyone will still want all of the additional help, even if small.
Point taken. I'll rethink someway to suggest something related to what my intentions are when I've come up with the proper example. As for now, I'll just keep reading to get another new idea or something
And if we give FS clerics more SP by decreasing the buffs to say level 1, they will be able to get a lot more offensive skills. I do not want the FS cleric to have everything. A fighter, healer, buffer, tank. I think FS cleric should support, but have a way to get out of a situation (more than a sleep) and be able to change gear and do some quests and leveling.
Considering this. I can agree. Fighter wise though, it gets more sp for offensive, BUT remember, our FS style or in this case we are changed to support style, use charm more than int, sen, con, str and dex (well dex is basically our defence)
So the ap on the skills wouldn't really change us to have better abilities to be a fighter but more to have a potential to at least solo mobs. We can steal kills (hehe) but we can't kill one person in general.
Those that say heals should be nerfed....have you played FS cleric in SOD? CD? SC? Have you played in any of the game arena PVP games? Dungeons, if you get stuck with a not so hot team, are really tough to heal through sometimes. If you go in with great people and people you have done them before with, then it is typically a piece of cake, relatively speaking. If you just queue up and get a random team then most of the time all heals are going, plus purify and res and rebuffing. And in CD, the heals are only really strong if there are more than one FS cleric. A single cleric has all heals going and dies. They are the primary target, slept, stunned, etc. Heals are not too OP and the cleric job is healing. They do not need to be changed in my opinion.
I agree to this
And I agree that in PVM clerics are fine, except for leveling or questing. They are fine in a party like for dungeons, or a good party for leveling.
Also, "powerleveling" is for the privileged. Those that have worked at making a FS cleric max level should be able to take away some of the pain of leveling by using their cleric or a friend helping them level up a new char. The new players do not have a FS max cleric hanging around with them to level and they still have to do it themselves. It is like some of the no class requirement gear. If you have played long enough to acquire helpful gear for a noob then it is a privilege of that experience that helps you level up the next char. I see nothing wrong with that.
Still i don't agree with the timer though. Unless clarified
