So "You shouldn't need right to privacy, if you're legit"?

Since when having privacy = have something illegitimate to hide...

You do realize how few people have actually created gods on this server, right? You're all acting like lots of people have them, when there's a max of like 5 people who have ever made gods that could have traded them off.

I have no right to privacy when I create and I'm held responsible for items I don't even own. Why should that be different for anybody else?

The server announcements exist for a reason. There should be nothing private about items that can double your damage.

Considering the items are supposed to be banned from being traded after the keep box is opened.... There's pretty much no privacy anyway.

The announcement was made only the part when gods are created/introduced to the server. And everyone knows guild leaders created those items for use in their guild or to trade with a 3rd party (why would a person make 11 megs to use for herself).

The trading part is another matter which should remain private between trading partners. Revealing the current owners of such items rip that privacy off. Whether an item could be trade or not after opening has nothing to do with item privacy I guess.

If you're concerned about the illegit gods, revealing the total number for each gods is enough. There's no need to reveal player names. If there's a suspiciously high amount of certain items, then we can ask GM to investigate.

Do you own one? Cuz I'm pretty sure you don't own one that I made. And If I sell you my hammer, guess what? I'll know.

Why do you deserve privacy when it's denied to the creators? Why should we carry the burden of everyone assuming we own the item made for you?

Yes if you've sold hammer to me. Sure you'll know. But that remains between you and me (and several of our close friends?). Not the whole server (which is nasty).

After all you're worried that you don't have privacy when created a god. So everyone shouldn't have privacy to hold the gods?

Umm given how powerful they are, how about no?

We can see your hats, we can see your weapons sometimes, we can't see armors or accessories, why should something that strong be hidden more than say.... a VOH?

It does matter because it hurts incoming guilds/competition who are told "oh one guild owns ________ and ________" when it's not true. I sell creations and we're not as loaded as told. The numbers I gave were creations, not ownership.

if some wonderful person is duping keep boxes I've created, then THAT is a problem and I want to know.

I kind of think it's more what matters is who wins at WoE without using cheats. You don't show actually skill by having your computer play half the game for you.

I for one would really be interested in knowing where the gods are being used and if they're legit or not.

I still don't see the issue. If you have a meg, it's usually pretty obvious anyway, and there's nothing in the Terms of Service that says that private trades will remain private anyway.

You have no guaranteed privacy.

Ehh it's not the right place, go back to your whining thread. If you are not capable of winning against APers please don't play this game and stop spreading ebola to this community.

Classic mechanics and gameplay bro. Gods matter a lot.

I heavily disagree with this.

On classic currently there is a extremely huge skill disparity between groups of players, I can set up a guild of 24 players on equal footing vs any guild on the server and 90 % of the time come out on top without using a single god item. The huge problem with classic at the moment is only a few a select few people know how to build a woe character and of those even fewer know how to build a woe roster and lead effectively.

Back to the topic though I'll +1 this thread since transparency can't hurt. Add +1 meg for snl on that list.

I meant mechanically, gods matter a lot. Their effects are much more substantial here than they are on Renewal due to lower base stat caps and different bonus calculation, not to mention the totally revamped cast and damage formulas, and my post was in response to a player from Renewal who afaik exclusively plays that server.

I agree with the player skill thing. I've said in the past that skill/competency with your class is something that gear complements, but doesn't cover for.

Let's keep it on-topic.

well you can just list the gods your guild owns and that should put the question at rest. you can take the first step and maybe others will follow.

at a minimum you guys should have just been tracking classic god creation from the start in some thread, especially since these are global announcements.

The veiled accusation here was that gods are duped or somehow appear at perhaps a corrupt GM's will? If that is a problem on your server, it sounds like Xellie is making a suggestion to root it out.

Wow, did I hit a sore spot with my comment?

Afaik I am just as entitled to my opinion as anyone else that plays the game.

I still think that god ownership should be viewable, we have a right to know what's legit out there and what's been duped, whether the duper keeps it for themself or sells for zeny or cash.

Clear enough for you now?

Meg is not the only god item in this game.

You have no guaranteed privacy.

Doesn't guarantee, sure. But revealed publicly without an option? No.

Like in real life, you know a person is rich just by looking at him/her. But knowing what supercar or how much money he/she has shouldn't be revealed publicly without consent.

Same in game, we couldn't right click > see zeny. And there's a reason why we can choose not to show the equipment.

Such privacy is a basic thing to have.
