My picture refers to one of the most popular figures of Dia de los muertos during these modern years. 

La calavera garbanzera was created by a Mexican cartoonist in 1913 and later adopted by the well-known Mexican muralist Diego Rivera and renamed as " La Catrina "

She is becoming a Mexican quintessential image of death. It is increasingly common to see her as part of the celebration of Dia de los muertos around the whole country.

 

 

in the center of the picture, you can see a "Catrina made in RO" 

How to construct one? Here the items needed:

Lady's Feather Hat X1

Clattering Skull X1

Peco Peco Feather X55

Wedding Dress X1

And for the last detail, she is holding some cempasúchil flowers, one of the most common offerings to the dead in mexico.

 

The ladyes in both sides of the picture are also offering the popular food you can find during this celebration:

The Sorcerer lady offers Pan de Muerto (Bread of dead)

The Priest lady offers some sugar skulls.

Thanks, Fier! I risked a limb venturing for the first time into something like this, a mob art of sort, with a looming deadline. And man, my wrist almost gave up on me as I crammed to get this done on or before oct19 and almost thought of scrapping it too after realizing that there's so much stuff to be done in so little time with so limited resources. /swt Thank God, I made it somehow and this stuff made me realize that all this time I had an awful art composition which I have to work hard on from here onwards.

Yeah, I hope to see more art submissions too. I know some good artists around the forums who haven't submitted their entries yet or, worse, have decided not to join. =(

Even though Day of the dead celebration is usually a gathering for family and friends to remember their love one. I drew Kathryne and Celia because they matched each other (being mage classes)

Here is my entry for this halloween contest. I did think many times should i or shouldnt i join this contest cause personal issue. But was thinking this is a good chance to improve my art skills. 

 

In my country, theres no celebration for halloween. But when i was a kid, i knew halloween by watching television. Kids in western countries go to house by house, dress like any monsters or witch or etc, and get their sweets by saying " TRICK OR TREAT?!??!"  That is so adorable. 

 

I hope souls from the dead can be calm and find their light. Thats why i chose Hazy forest cause i really love the surroundings of hazy forest, the background and music etc... sparky and shinning. Feels like kinda mystery. 

 

Maybe cant be notice the job classes cause i did recreate their costumes, from left - Shadow Chaser ( Deviruchi ), Maestro ( Doctor ), Archbishop ( Bloody Nurse )

 

Cause was rushing the deadline, i didnt manage to draw other represent type ghost monsters

Heres my entry.. was a little worried about not having it on time !!

 

Here in Mexico, we make an altar for our beloved that passed away, we include some of the personal stuff of the person, so i include some of the drops of one of the Heroes of the Lore of RO: Thanatos, when we was alive heh.

 

Other items we usually add is skullcandy, candles (to light up the road), water (so they are not thristy), food, a stick so the bad spirits go away, alcohol drinks, a  dog (not alive, just a ceramic dog) so he can help them go back safe, old money (so they can pay to the dog) and a rossary.

Hi, yeah i know I am late ; ]

 

I decided to post it anyway... if not for the contest than just for loading screens.

 

This is how we celebrate in Poland, by lighting votive candles on graves. It looks really beautiful by night, especially when the cemetery is very big. The light goes far, far into the darkness. I got lost on one of the biggest and oldest graveyards in my town near Halloween once, by night, quite amazing : )

 

Anyway, I know I was late thus I do not expect to be taken under consideration, but I wish everyone best of luck, all entries are amazing! And no matter where You are from... Happy Halloween everyone! : )

This year's Halloween craze in Rune Midgard seems to be over the seasonal and very delicious Very Red Juice! Everyone and their mother has a Loli Ruri. It's blood red, but is it... blood?
