Goal: Experiment with the implementation of a No God Item no MVP WoE Event

End Goal: Implementation of a third woe period with its own rewards, and no god item or mvps card should this prove popular and fun.

 

  • WoE 2 will have the following items disabled - The goal is to experiment with a REAL no god no MVP WoE
    • ephemeral items
    • High Wizard Card
    • Aspirka
    • Brynhild
    • GTB Card
    • Hibram Card
    • Tao Gunka
    • Lord Knight Card
    • Brysgammen
    • Mjolnir
    • Maginjard
    • Sleipnir
    • Amon Ra Card
    • Assassin Cross Card
    • Atroce Card
    • White Lady Card
    • Baphomet Card
    • Beelzebub Card
    • Buwaya Card
    • Dark Lord Card
    • Detardeurus Card
    • Doppelganger Card
    • Dracula Card
    • Drake Card
    • Eddga Card
    • Evil Snake Lord Card
    • Hibram Card
    • Garm Card
    • Iifrit Card
    • Samurai Specter Card
    • Kiel Card

As pointed out to us about precedent set by previous events:

  • At the end of the event, castle status reverts to pre event status.
  • Okolnir will be turned off for the duration of the event.

However a new change to the event:

  • Treasure will be replaced with GSB and other supply options for the duration of the event. To encourage as much participation in multiple WoE as possible.

Will this be available for characters that have recently reset with Sam Status in Payon?

 

By recently read: Any time in the last 3 months.

I am very happy to see this in progress. Also thrilled about a chance for a 3rd woe (only make it 1 hour long).

Disappointed because it may be taking place at a time where the window for opportunity has passed. However, let's try it out and see how it goes! I think I'll only be able to make it to half of them due to school but looking forward to it very much so!

I like this improved version much more.  Alternative rewards is a good compromise.

 

As far as miniboss cards go, I think GR and DR are necessary to leave enabled with this setup, but Maya Purple could be worth discussing.  Not sold on that idea yet, though.

Discussion:

 

Will this event be running too long? too short? What else would you like to see for the event?

 

 

I think the event timing is perfect.

 

I would HIGHLY recommend disabling guardians and only having 1 castle per realm open. No need for 10 castles for the action to be spread out in. Two castles are perfect. If the "big" guilds wish to fight in one castle then the "small" guilds can fight in the other castle. Guardians would be a bit too OP here and the goal is to make an environment to fight other players instead of PVM during WoE.

I see no reason for you to make it so long with a single ruleset. A week or two max should cover most of the testing or experimenting that needs to be done. If you want to make it so long make minor changes each week. Begin with a baseline of no gods/mvps. Then for the second week remove mini boss cards. The third add them back in and change something else.

 

If people are not having fun on the first week, there's no reason for them to show up on any of the three following weeks if nothing is going to change. It's clear that everyone wants something different, try some things out.

lol i could have sworn when we tried to bring this up a couple of years ago all of the "this is iRO this is how we play here" people were not having it....finally you gms are catching up! i agree with alex though it might be too late on this but its still worth a try i guess.....i highly suggest though if you are going to do this disable every mvp/miniboss(yes all of them) and all god items entirely....no picking and choosing just get rid of all of them...let people use box of sunlight rather than everyone have mp's which is how it is now....and imo should make this the 2 hour woe since its only once a week and if anything break down the 2 -_-ty god item/mvp infested  woe's into 2 seperate 1 hour woe's

 

 

P:S  another thing (which im pretty sure most of the people who criticized this idea back then im sure are eating their words right now.) but im still waiting on you guys to figure a way to lower guild caps and alliances..i refuse to believe theres no possible way to get that done...better get on the phone with korea and find a way if you really want to improve woe by a mile here..it would be a shame it took you guys another 2-3 years to finally understand that as well

they have logs to see what items you used during a certain period thou

also giving a month is needed over a week or 2 because guild leaders need to convince members this is worth trying again and you know how hard that can be at times

I think 2 weeks should be enough, as Themes said. I also think GR/DR/MP should be disabled, I really don't want a woe full of unfrozen GR LK's and Tarot musicians. I also support Alex's idea regarding disabling guardians and reducing castles. 2 Castles. Sounds enough. Thank you for your effort and hearing our feedback. I hope it will be as fun as possible, given it was implemented kind of too late.

My argument for MP disablement is this

 

There is no counter

 

Whilst GR can be countered with frost joke / elemental damage and DR can be countered with .... elemental damage, once someone has an MP equipped, that's it. I believe that MPs are highly over-saturated due to drop rates and uncontrolled econ.

 

So yeah, there's the logic.

 

So pending on actually having MP disabled being considered and the zerg situation on the server (look, we 12 v 50 ppl because items ok?) then it's worth discussing participating, but otherwise it "just doesn't sound like fun".

+ can we ask for some monitoring during few "event" woes ? GMs need to see how "good" some players are. They need to b praised at this point.  :surrender:

This would be most awesome thing happened to WoE. Those gods and MvP are inaccessible to over 90% of playerbase and some of them proved to be too powerful like GTB can nullify the entire Magic class. 

 

Mini MvP cards are easily accessible to any end game character, and I think they should still be allowed. MP gives a lot of advantage, but it's hardly game breaking.

Next step is adding a tiny fixed potions and skill reuse delays on some of the abused skills.

Way for you to say MP is not game breaking if you complain about GTB nullifying an entire class. Doesn't MP have the same effect ? (sorta)

 

Also, Mini boss cards are TOOOOO easily accessible and apparently reporting people about non legally earned MVP cards and Mini Boss cards doesn't make a difference.

 

To end this, isn't "event" woe supposed to "experiment" ? :pif:

Everybody on the server has the ability to hunt MVPs and do the seal quests.

well that killed the player base

 

i had a lot of friends come because it was no gods/mvps but that failed horribly.

 

if your gonna do it again disable gr/dr/mps as well
