Corridor of Abyss : A dragon dwelling inside the royal castle

Date available : June 13th - July 11th, 2017

    “Corridor of Abyss” is (I believe) a temporary dungeons with 2 new types of great leveling spot prepared for players who are Lv150 or higher.

Story

Long ago, there’s a great king who was praised as a god.
However, with his mind seized with insanity, he did nothing but war until the world sank into a the great chaos.

Soon, he was defeated by a sole hero and the peace came back once again.
Unfortunately, fear remaining in people’s memory couldn’t be easily eliminated.

People who were tortured by this nightmare were trying to recover their mind by cursing everything related to the king… his name, his acts, his properties, his castle, history of country…
This brought even miserable means of sealing the existence of king until nowhere of his skin was unwound.

Thus, the king who was praised as a god should completely disappear from people’s memory in this world...

But now, “The king of malediction” is going to be resurrected.
If his allies (彼の者) were revived, this world would be changed to hell.

Adventurers who are told such a story by a mysterious woman named “Shikina” who was serving for the old king, have decided that they should must save this world from the crisis and set their foots into the forbidden cursed land called “Prontera Abyss (プロンテラ深淵)”.

(Some words such as 惨憺たる etc. is said to be an advance grammar in JLPT N1 which is beyond by capability. If you have high proficiency in Japanese and know what’s better translation, please teach me. Thank you)

Steps

- In every town such as “Prontera”, there’s an NPC named “A guard with sharp glint eye (眼光鋭い衛士)” who moves player to “Prontera Church”.


- Enter the top left room and speak to “Holy Armor (聖なる甲冑)” to enter “Prontera Abyss”.

- At “Prontera Abyss”, talk to “Shikina” to accept her request for defeating monsters.

** There’s also a “Half number defeating quest” prepared but half-reward too. Depending on player’s play-style or job.

- Monsters to defeat appear at the 4 maps inside Prontera Abyss. They’re “Garden”, “Ritual field”, “Corridor” and “Old Town’s Zone”.


- When done, report back to Shikina to receive “Ruined country’s coin”. This coin can be trade for many valuable items.

- Player who’s Lv130 or below can try the “Training Floor Version”. Monsters are weaker, no progression of story quest. Still, player get “Ruined country’s coin” as a reward.


- **New** 2 new maps, “Forest” and “Ravine” which are great leveling spots for players who are Lv150 or higher.


- When all 4 maps are finished, player can talk to Shikina again. This time she will give a “Boss monster defeating quests” and request player to enter 4 maps again. Defeating each boss at the first time rewards player with the “Ruined country’s coin”.

- When finished defeating 4 bosses, the way to “King’s graveyard of the abyss” will open. (Instance Dungeon) A dungeon with boss rush mode and the “Old King” lies await.

The (probably) last dungeon “Abyss’ Old Castle”
Only those who can defeat “Old King Groza” have a chance to challenge this new dungeon. (Instance dungeon) A very large dungeon where enemies at the most deepest floor are much stronger than the “Old King Groza”.

Prontera Abyss (Garden)

    Most monsters here reflect magical damage. So it’s suitable for physical attacker classes.
Earth-property weapons have a big role here.

Prontera Abyss (Ritual field)

    Monsters here are holy/dark element and have very strong attack power. Entering with party is strongly recommended. A class with a skill that can do AoE neutral physical damage plays a big role here.

Prontera Abyss (Corridor)

    Unlike the garden, monsters here reflect physical damage instead. This map is suitable for fire-property spell casters.

Prontera Abyss (Old Town’s Zone)

    Crowded with fire-property monsters with very strong attack power. 1 more map where team play is strongly recommended.

Prontera Abyss Training Floor (Garden)

    Monsters here are vulnerable to spells. Don’t let any monsters come closer.

Instance Dungeon : Abyss’ King Graveyard

- Can be entered only when 4 grudge commanders (boss) are defeated.
- Talk to Shikina to get a key of “Gate of Resentment”.
- With a key in player’s possession, click the “Abyss’ King Graveyard” near Shikina to start the instance dungeon creation.
- Wait until the pop-up window displays “Creation Complete (作成済)” then click the graveyard again to enter.
** Party required, has re-creation cooldown until tomorrow’s 5:00am.

What to do if you can’t find boss monsters for completing quests ?
    Adventurers who can’t find boss monsters can examine the “Deep pool of grudge”. This creates an instance dungeon for defeating bosses.

Deep pool of grudge can be found in the following coordinates :

Ritual field’s instance : Shadow of Deadmen Safeguard Kadeth

Instance Dungeon : Abyss’ Old Castle

    Only those who defeated “Old King Groza” can challenge. Many mechanisms must be resolved in order to progress.
- When the condition written above is completed, talk to “Queen Mea” to start instance dungeon creation.

Wow such an interesting dungeon. I love the way jRO put particular type of monster so players need to coordinate their party. And one thing I like is they make full use of the forgotten Earth element weapon for some area lol. Feels like some games in light novels lol.

And that two handed staff of Fire and Lightning, I want it so bad. Fire Walk and Lightning Walk need more love >.<. Save the King and the shield combo too, cuz I don't like the concept of Grand Cross/Holy Cross RG wearing spear.

And, so the arcana card is come from fragment? Nice. Oh, and because those cards are from major arcana system, I believe the name should be
Vehicle = The Chariot
Sweetheart = The Lover
God of Death = The Death

I really hope GungHo allow iRO to bring this dungeon

I looked too much into the Kanjis....

 

As a teenager, I was hoping my knight should use a sword because of the cool-looking of it. But the knight/crusader class in this game was just designed to use spears. I eventually became familiar with it because I couldn't deny its spear-exclusive skills are much more efficient.

 

Save the King is my first time seeing the game is trying to make a new branch for sword user knight. (RG - -") Though it requires no Peco Riding skill. I actually love it but sometime I'm lazy to slowly walk around as a knight. (hehe)

Though I do admit that I want to see more interesting Two-Handed Spears... They could even take the unneeded Spear Quicken bonus off Save the King and place it on a flavored Two Handed Spear.

Add some Cannon Spear and Moonslasher to that and you're set to rotate between skills. Shield Spell 1 for ATK and go. I'm mostly hoping for some MATK gains to help the long lost MATK side of Crusaders. Grand Cross is still a thing, after some people were curious, but it is still deeply buried under spears for efficiency and level range. Sucks that Shield Spell 2 doesn't grant a MATK boost.

I wish I could present all of contents I wrote in this topic. Too bad, my habits when I play this game is, I don't buy cash shop items.

So, my capability is limited. Like the maps for Lv150+ that I was completely incapable.

Even the bosses like Old King Groza or Witch Zilante which is the most important point of this event that other players at JRO were trying hard to challenge.

Let's have a look at Grand Cross Royal Guard.

 

Compared to 2-handed spear that increases 2x damage for Holy Cross.

 

Grand Cross with only Sword.

 

The sword has spiritual element. So I tried bashing Blut Haze. (Geffen Magic Tournament)

 

Now to get the most effective, Sword and shield must be wielded together.

However, the shield (King's Guard) requires base level 130 to equip.

It took me month to get my RG to level 130.

 

And BAM! (lol)

 

I was a little stunned after seeing those so-tough Giganteses can be easily killed.

 

Blut Haze revisit.

 

And ... Rage Burst Attack with full meter.

 

My next plan is Old Glastheim (Normal). I'd like to see her performance in there but I need at least Lv 150 to ensure I can fight Amdarais.

They're 3 Pom Spider Cards which increases 20% physical damage against undead monsters.

And 強撃3 (Kyougeki 3) enchant. I don't know if this already exists in IRO. I'd translate this as "hard blow".

 

I was planning for 3 Abyss Knight cards which will be more useful for Grand Cross and fighting against boss monsters which are everywhere in Old Glastheim 2F or high tier maps like Cursed Monastery 3F for example.

But they cost 55~60M each. This is impossible for my budget...

By the way, Cursed Monastery 3F in Japan now looks pretty much like a real hell (lol)

 

They're buffed so hard. Even 175 won't be able to do anything if no extreme gears are prepared.

My Sura killed herself by Sky Blowing them and all the damages were reflected.

 

So, I guess this place is only for spell casters with extreme spell power.

The Tiamat War Event

    The biggest difference than last year is the "Tiamat War (ティアマト攻城戦)" event held 2 times per day at the fixed time.

 

When I saw the word 攻城戦 (kojo-sen) I thought it was new "War of Emperium" mode. However, it isn't.

    This is PvM event but against Zilant the witch and her subordinates.

 

The difficulty is much higher than Monster House's highest difficulty... Everything in every room is a 1 hit KO AoE which can 1 shot me all the time (Orz)

 

The map doesn't display damage number as well as some effects of the skills so I believe this event uses the same mechanic as WoE.

 

By completion, the event rewards the ticket which will expire within 1 hour. This ticket give base EXP depending on BaseLv along with coins and other different rewards depending on the score when finished.

 

New Rewards

    There are more rewards added and available via coin trade or monster drop.

 

The King's Mail [1] for example, which further increases damage of Grand Cross if user equips it with Save the King or King's Guard (see the first post of this topic)

 

Trivia

    These twin blade of Groza are really really interesting. Haven't tried them out but like King's Mail, I'm waiting for the next year's refine event (such as this, or this) so that I have a chance to upgrade them to at least +6 without the risk of ruining my hard-work-and-pay-so-hard rewards.

 

Ring of the King of Abyss (深淵の王の指輪)

My RG is having fun kicking those trolling Elvira's _ss (lol). Didn't know she can do it until this event is held again.

 

My RK can't 1 shot enemies at the corridor zone. Just a little bit more power needed but I just can't do it right now.

 

Didn't know "Cluster Bomb" deals "Close-range physical damage". So... (lol)
