Welcome to the Joke and Tell Creative Contest!

 

Your challenge is to make our judges: the WarpPortal Staff laugh out loud with your clever or funny jokes!

 

Please read the rules below and the FAQ section found at the end of this post to avoid disqualification and misunderstandings.

 

 

 Open to all RO1 and RE:START players! (Odin, Thor, Chaos, Loki)

 

 Rules:

• Create a Ragnarok Online-themed joke (no more than 100 words).
• You must also provide an explanation of the joke under a spoiler tag.
• First come, first serve!
• Must be your own original idea and work!
• Strictly no insulting, defaming, bullying, passive-aggressive, direct personal jokes towards another player, guild, the game and anyone in the community. This will lead to an immediate disqualification and suspension from submitting again.
• All entries must be rated PG-13. No excessive violence, strong language, or NSFW content will be permitted.
• One joke per participant. Anyone caught submitting multiple entries under multiple accounts will be disqualified.
• No post-reserving please.
• No derailing. If you have any issues with another person's entry, please PM either CMAstra or myself about it in private.

 FAQ:

 

Why is there no participation prize?

Recently participation prizes have become a distraction that has taken away from the quality of the events that we've been able to run. Due to this, we have decided to experiment with different event and prize reward formats to find one that meshes will with the Ragnarok Community. Not all participation prizes (or lack thereof) will be the same across every contest we hold.

 

Why do we have to explain our jokes? That ruins the fun of it.

It is basically for the sake of understanding. And if the humor behind the joke is understood, then it is qualified as a joke!

 

How do I make a spoiler tag?

 

Do upvotes contribute to winning in this contest?

No.

 

Are we allowed to submit more than one joke?

No.

 

Can we change our joke before the deadline?

Yes, you can edit the joke or the explanation or change it completely but you can only do this before the deadline.

 

Can we have memes as an entry?

Nope. We will keep it old-fashioned and tell jokes through words only!

 

Why is there a limit of 100 words?

Not all jokes follow the same format of Question and Answer like the shown example. You can do a short scenario joke with a punchline too. For example: "A Poring walks into a bar..." and so on! Remember jokes are meant to be short and sweet and direct!

Familiar is a low level monster located in the Payon Dungeon. One of the main culprit who's been giving newbies a hard time when they become a mob. Familiar: huehuehue

The word "Familiar" can mean something that you've experienced before or someone that you've seen/met before, etc.

Prt_Fld08 contains the monster 'Lunatic' . But he is mistaken as a lunatic (Someone who is mentally ill) because of the zealotus and it's cracking whip seeing which they back away frightened.

 We aren't getting more girls in this game anytime soon, might as well put that in there. Trap is double meaning, in ro it is meant as an item catalyst for the hunter class. On some cases, traps are categorized as males pretending to be female. Odin is also a well known God in the game, and for an archbishop to say that, it makes it look believable.

My place of leveling in level 90~99 its Glast Heim Underprison, I need to kill Injustice and Rybio, when you has killed so much monsters and waste long time in the dungeon I get tired.

In this joke my character is sitting in a monster called Injustice (In-Just-Ice), the monster is undead class (Undead =  corpse cold), then the Party Member ask if is not cold where Xion is Sitting.

And he anwswer: No, I'm In-Just-Ice refering to both ways. (Is sitting in a Injustice or In-Just-Ice (The Cold of the Corpse).)

They ran out of Bathories.

Bathories=batteries. When something that runs on battery(ies) runs out of it, it would stop operating. In this case, the batteries are Bathories who drop Witch Starsand, one of the ingredients needed for a Condensed White Potion. No Bathories=no Witch Starsands=no Condensed White Potion produced.

You know, sometimes, when I have freetime, I go out into South Prontera Field and I find a nice, cool, shaded, spot under a tree and I converse with the little pink hopping blobs. They're very down-to-earth, extremely talkative, and they seem to enjoy my company because they're always waiting at the designated spot.

I enjoy the talks just as much as they do because I'm a good listener and they just can't stop Poring out their emotions.

The Poring is perhaps the most famous, and weakest, monster in Ragnarok Online. Some may even consider them mascots of the game. They are the pink blobs that I was referring to and their home is a field south of a city known as Prontera. With my joke, I focused on wordplay, making a pun out of the monster's name. I love puns and I love Porings lol.
