Since May 1st, 2013 we have explored Ragnarok Online 2 together.  In that time, it has gone through many evolutions.  It would not be what it is today had it not been for the community and the team who has worked hard every day to make it the best that it can.

 

Unfortunately, it is with deep regret that we must announce that Ragnarok Online 2 will not be receiving any further support.  Ragnarok Online 2 has struggled as of late, but in the last few years it was thankfully given new life thanks to outside funding.  However, despite all the hard work, Ragnarok Online 2 did not meet expectations.  This has regretfully resulted in the removal of the development team assigned to Ragnarok Online 2.

 

Since we know so many still enjoy Ragnarok Online 2, the game will remain open, but without a development team it will remain as it is and will not be receiving any further development, for updates or events. We want to thank everyone who has worked on Ragnarok Online 2 since the servers went live.

Why not close the game down?  I don't really think that many people "still enjoy" the game.  It's more like they've been beyond patient waiting for promised content.

 

I have a few questions.

 

1. Will there still be the regular events held, ones that are held regularly each year?
2. If you are discontinuing support, are you still going to keep the kafra shop open for purchases?  (It should be disabled or made free.)
3. Will you release the content that's been in development this far?  For example, we know there is some content in the fabled Niffleheim area, can you just release it in whatever state it's in?
4. Will there be any staff at all to handle reports?  For cheating as example, or is the game going to become a free for all mad house of people exploiting everything?

Idun, WP wont close RO2 because of some host contract? if yes, when the contract will expire and will the game close after?

I'll go down ad the Number 1 Monk that ever existed in Ro2. I Tenebrae/TenetacleLust, the man the myth, the legend, the one and only sun toucher the one monk no one could beat, if it 1v1 Tene will win and everyone knows that, on land sea and air hes a monk know as the strongest creature among all of Ro2 history.

It was fun while it lasted. All i can say is i RunForce Of Uncrowned will go down in history of Ragnarok online 2 as the #1 Warrior of this game. 

And theres a reason why i am called the #1 Warrior of Ragnarok online 2. Its because of my hard work and dedication to the game.

 

I never slack off, I always train and duel every class there is and study them. When you train hard the matches goes easy.

With my mental fortitude, skill at the game, I can always find weaknesses in my opponent's move and destroy them.

 

As soon as i get into my rhythm, its hard to beat me because,

#1 I am able to do everything you do but better

#2 i am able to shut you down because with my predicitons, you cant do anything that surprises me

#3 I play with a very sharpened skill of using Battle Leap even when youre invisible as a hider

#4 There is no blueprints to defeat me against a Warrior to Warrior fight

 

I am honored to go down as the #1 warrior of this game, farewell to everyone who sparred against me and helped me train my skills!

Hello everyone,

 

I am just going to be popping in and helping to answer some questions that have been posted here.

 

- At this time, we do not expect there to be further in game events.

 

- The kafra shop will remain open as is.

 

- Further development for RO2 is being discontinued, including any updates that were previously being worked on.

 

- Warpportal will still be handling player reports via the ticket system. There will still be GMs monitoring and responding to player tickets, and removing players who are cheating from the game.

I feel sad because the story of this game could be different if it had a more committed administration, I hope they do not feel offended by it, it's just my opinion;

I feel that soon after the merger of the Indonesian server if the expansions had continued maybe this would not be happening =/

Is it right to keep accepting money for this game when there will be no further development for it? That seems like a pretty scummy move. Will you place an in game notice to the effect stating development is finished, as to warn potential new players from wasting their money expecting what we all have been expecting for the last 3+ years?

The right thing to do is stop accepting money, make the Kafra shop free and announce the closure of the game. There is no point to keep it alive except to milk money out of unsuspecting players.
