RO Transcendence: Remove Fixed Cast Times

How can this server be released as level 99 pre-trans with fixed cast times. Do the GM's not see why this is going to be terrible?

For reference Restart was renewal mechanics + the removal of all fixed cast times. Anyone remember how bad WoE TE was on renewal compared to a classic server's level 99 WoE? 

 

The renewal cast time formulas are made for level 150 3rd classes which have way more stats, Sacrament (50% fixed cast time reduction), as well as the addition of gear that reduces cast time. 

 

No one likes fixed cast times, no one wants fixed cast times, they make the game slow and clunky.

Agreed, especially because instant cast time is impossible to achieve anyway with the removal of fixed cast at level 99.  There are no level 99 skills that reduce fixed cast time either.  Finally, this is a prime source of kafra shop gear that will almost certainly be introduced that is not necessary or healthy for the game.

Nobody  wants  fixed  cast  times!

It makes no sense to have it on pre-3rd classes, and it makes the game feel extremely slow and boring! If you have to, make the variable cast time slightly longer!

You dont want fixed cast time because it makes slow and ... clunky? ... but you also hate renewal because WoE is too fast and powerful .. my mind cant handle this.

Can you explain why the server would be better with fixed cast times than it is with fixed cast times removed?

The Skill Balance update, which we know they are working on getting for us, will modify fixed cast times across the board. There's little point in trying to rebalance them ourselves when those changes will just be overwritten in the hopefully near future.

Based off the GM's communication of the skill balance update I don't think anyone has the confidence or feeling that this is coming soon; and if it is then I don't see why they wouldn't tell us.

I played both, i don't mind. :P

That would mean that the pre 3rd class skills were then meant to be used as endgame options and were balanced for such, wich is not exactly the case. Most of them are in the middle of the road, where they are still acceptable and powerfull enough at lower levels and can be made "op" with maxed 3rd class gear and stats.

It slows down the pace of pre 3rd jobs, and that's likely what you don't like. I for one, don't mind it.

You can stop with your "how to fix classic server" threads in a non-classic server.

 

Also your woe goons can stop too.

 

 

Cool downs are important for the long term.

 

Also, you probably define a server's success on the WoE scene and initial start.

Since iRO needs kRO approval on any skill changes, you would get this "remove cooldowns" change along with the other skill balances in the "first/second quarter".

 

By then, its doomed, right?

No one is talking about cool downs. 

 

It's not my fault I understand the game better than Warpportal. They're lucky to have my advice for free.

Wow. High horse so high it's basically a giraffe on weed right now hahaha

Forcing one perspective while also blatantly ignoring everyone else's points-of-view doesn't qualify as "understanding" btw


On-topic:
The way I see it, longer cast times help promote teamplay in woe (and maybe pvm too) because then you'd be encouraged to rely on teammates to protect your casts.

Also, aren't we supposed to be trying to avoid the instacast-instakill-fest that "ruined woe"?

To reduce all Variable Cast Time with stats, a character needs a combination of DEX and INT so DEX ×2 and INT equal at least 530 ((DEX × 2 + INT) = 530).

 

 

As you can see instant cast is nowhere close to achievable in renewal at level 99.   Fixed cast time was removed on Restart and felt really good.  I don't see any purpose to having fixed cast time as the game is already slower as a result of renewal mechanics in general compared to classic, and this makes it even slower.

If we're not getting the skill balance update any time soon (and it looks like it's 3-4 months away?), we have to do something about fixed cast times, or I can already tell we're going to get a constant stream of kafra shop gears with fixed cast time reduction on them which is going to be stupid for server longevity.

make delay to cooldown and make cooldown to be after delay  :heh:

I don't get why people would want a slow cast skills when there's no FCT reduction gear. Even if they remove the fixed cast times, it won't be like pre-renewal where you can obtain instant cast w/ 150 dex.  

Camp must push this hard to get this update from kRO asap.

You can obtain instant cast with 1 dex.

 

if we're talking about woe. i don't have any problem with fixed cast time. Gfist can be used after combo bypassing all forms of cast time. With the skill balance wizard aoe skills will have 5~7s cooldowns. you can actually spam more meteor storms with the current mechanic. and imo either mechanic is better than spamming meteor storms under aspd delay which is in no way a good thing for WoE since you want as little lag possible. let me remind you magic strings and suffragium exist. I don't think sages' debuff and land skills have fct. Also spamming Acid bombs as fast as Double strafe/autoattacks is not balance. What other relevant skills have fct? I'd say just wait for the official skill balance. if you don't like the current mechanic just don't play the game lol.
