How to manually re-patch Ragnarok Transcendence Client

 

Intro:
As per title, this guide will take you step by step on how to manually repatch your game client. It is expected of the user to follow each step thoroughly without skips. 
 
Why:
When do you need to manually repatch?
Manual client repatch is suggested in the following scenarios:

• Getting Failed to get [file name] file. error in the patcher progress bar.
  EXMAPLE of how the error would look like:
  
   
• The game's patcher is downloading the same files each time launched.
• Random errors due to missing a patch file, such as sprite errors.
• Network related/restrictions (lacking information here).
• Lastly, persisting errors as above despite a clean reinstall.

 

How:
So that now we know when to manually repatch, let's learn how it is done. Please read through each step posted below, do not skip even if the step looks very simple
It is important to mention sometimes it may not work on the first try so give it another go before you seek further assistance.
 
How to manually re-patch Ragnarok Transcendence Client:
 
Important Notes:

• If you are on metered/Wifi connections or/and unable to connect to FTP servers on Internet Explorer then this proposed fix may not work for you.
• If you are on a metered connection, use a VPN connection to download and patch the files, turn off the VPN when done patching.

Steps:

• Restart your device.
• Clear Internet Explorer cache, if you don't know how please check Appendix #2 in this post.
• Make sure Ragnarok.exe and Ragexe.exe are set to run as an admin all the time, if using dedicated antimalware/antivirus programs make sure the same are white-listed from the active scans.
• Assuming your client is freshly installed using latest client available on this page, download patch files pack from this link, unzip and place the contents in your game folder.
• Download tpatch.inf from this link, make sure to read the instructions carefully.

 

Lastly:
If any step is not clear let me know I will do my best to help.
To add, please do not quote this post or the steps, links may be broken/changed at any time without warning specially if I am updating things.

After re-installing the game, the patcher reverted to it's old look, and would "fully" patch.  This would allowing the game to run, but was apparently missing patches.  The game would run, but issues such as the "party.dll" error from day 1 returned.

 

Manually re-patching fixed this as well.

Sorry about that.

Can you please describe the steps taken to reach that point? What do you mean by can't launch the game? Any errors?

The pack is not updated yet for today's files, will do so as soon as I get free time.

I keep on getting the same error, even though I followed the instructions to the dot. Sometime I get a window prompt saying "Error can't connect to file server"

Seems to be a network issue.

Try the suggested solution under #2 (The updater fails to connect to the server) in this post.

Hey there,

You unpack the content right into your RO folder, where Setup.exe and the rest of exe's are.

Currently though there is an issue with FTP server, so patching the game is not advised till the issue is fully resolved. 

Check the patch notes section of RT for updates.

I have tried twice now and still get the message. Sadly Ragnarok renewal won't work too so I guess i'll be taking another break from RO. I'll check monthly to see if everything is back to normal. Thanks RO and keep making cool stuff!

Can you explain what happens when you attempt to install and or patch? It may be something else preventing the game client from launching correctly.

Such as, not running the client under admin mode or the antivirus is blocking RO and EAC files.

I will update the file shortly, however, please keep in mind there will be another patch file released later today to attend an issue with Costume Evil Druid cross.

Sakray is currently offline, could provide a step by step but the server is only available for a short period of time to test new updates.

Yurilandia, make sure that the patch files are properly unpacked right into RO folder where Setup.exe is for example and not inside their zip folder.

Ragnarok is opening normally, but after about 10 seconds in game, it closes.
