kRO third Class Balance Changes

Hello all! Just a scant few days ago, kRO implemented a major patch on thier test server that implements a large number of balance changes. A lot of these seem to match with the requests we've been seeing and reporting to them from our community so I wanted to know what you guys think about these third class skill changes. for a better looking rundown of the changes. Here is a crummy table with the in-game skill effects ripped directly from in-game and with the kRO changes next to them. I'd also like to fill in what the iRO community thinks of these changes, and what they would like to see done to these skills. I'll likely be monkeying around with the HTML so it doesn't look as awful, but let's jump in and take a look!

Description : Rune Knights have gained the
power to use Runes by acquiring Rune

There are a total of 9 Rune Stones and
the number of Rune Stones available to
make increases based on the level of
Rune Mastery. 1 Rune Gemstone and
1 Branch of Elder will be consumed when

Rhydo Rune

- Changed from a targeted skill to a buff. When used, your next attack will cast crush strike. After casting the effect is removed. Weapon breaking chance changed. Buff lasts 30 seconds.

Nosiege Rune

- After being used you cannot be affected by status effects for 60 seconds. HP recovery set to 25%.
- Removes the following Debuffs: Stun, Silence, Curse, Petrify, Poison, Blind, Bleeding, Chaos, Freeze, Cold, Lock, Burning, Guillotine Cross Poison, Marsh of Abyss, Howling of Mandragora.

Turisus Rune

- Duration time is Changed.

Hagalas Rune

- Duration time and Magic defense increase is affected by Job Lv and Rune Mastery level.
- Duration time is changed.

Isia Rune

- Duration time is changed.

Urj Rune

- Duration time is changed. (300s -> 180s)

"ok so we get a flying kick like skill in woe, except that it has a 1.5 SECOND AFTERCAST DELAY which means you snap, the other guy goes ""oh you can't do anything"" and either kills you or walks away. I'd love for it to be aspd based like flying kick, but would settle for a 0.5 aftercast delay. As it stands unless it can OHKO people theres no point using it.
-------------------------------------------feedback: This is a great update. Having added mobility with pretty much all guilds in-game being able to see through cloak and cloaking exceed in WoE now is very welcome.

"This skill is perfect the way it is I personally use it to level my low level GX and making it based on base lvl,agi and job lvl would only hinder the gx class more------------------------------------- IMO this skill should have a proper AoE. 3x3 is simply bad, you can't even 'counter slash' a lot of the things hitting you. should be 5x5 or 7x7 (like meteor assult).

Masquerade: I don't think they should be made completely unusable on MVPs, these are the main skills chasers can use to benefit a party, without them, all chaser skills practically become strictly pvp/woe (which I understand may be the essence of shadow chasers). However, if they are to be changed, I think lower success chance is a better idea. They are great debuffs and give a strong edge to players, so make it harder to acheive...and when you actually do achieve it, you get a good 20secs to abuse the MVP

As of now its such a useless skill. Very hard to use while leveling and does not do enough damage when you actually set it up. Also, last time I used it, it always positionlagged the monsters that ran through it.

Basically Copy the Skill name and the class it belongs to and detail what your feelings are about the kRO patch. If you like it, great say that, if it misses the point please put in where the concern resides.

We will be requesting updates following precisely what they did, and work to get those updates as quickly as possible. Once done it may be a while before enough changes build up to make a "new big patch" so we want to get as much covered in this one big update as possible.

I do have a few GX feedback and suggestions I would like to share while this balance updates are being made. Incoming...

Guillotine Cross Skill Updates
1. Dark Illusion MAX Lv : 5
Update: "Range is changed (4 + (Skill Level) cell increase) Can be used on WoE maps again.
Feedback: This is a great update. Having added mobility with pretty much all guilds in-game being able to see through cloak and cloaking exceed in WoE now is very welcome.

2. Counter Slash MAX Lv : 5
Update: "Damage formula is changed (Increased by users BaseLv, Agi, and JobLv) "
Feedback: Not sure what to add here without being able to test drive.

3. Hallucination Walk MAX Lv : 5
Update: "Skill HP cost is changed. "
Feedback: I was hoping this skill would slightly increase the caster's attack speed in addition to its current affect based on its description.

4. Cross Ripper Slasher MAX Lv : 5
Update: " Range is changed: 8 + (Skill lvl) cells. Damage formula is changed (Increased by users BaseLv and Agi). "
Feedback: Not sure what to add here without being able to test drive.

5. Rolling Cutter MAX Lv : 5
Update: "Damage formula is changed. Caster's BaseLv increases damage. At level 5 the radius is increased (3 x 3 -> 5 x 5) "
Feedback: This skill being Katar exclusive is a hindrance. This class is weak in AoE damage and gets left out of a lot in parties or events where players want fast killers for maximum turn-in experience. Is there any chance this skill can be updated so that the caster is able to use it with any weapon the class can wield, allowing us to increase our damage or defenses depending on the weapons we wield?

I love the reflect damage change for royal guards. I wish I knew how exactly they changed maestro skills though.

Would be nice to have more info on what actually changed. Saying "cast time changed" or "damage forumla changed" means nothing to me (could be for the better or worse).
Kinda funny, for most of the skills we dont even know what the offical formulas are.
Im hoping for the day where we can get some REAL patch notices like in blizzard / RO2 games (ie "Changed formula for Skill X from XXX -> XXX).
This ambiguitity in patch notices from the developers is one of the things I hate about this game, but I am happy with weekly iRO patch notices.

Sorcerer -
Spell fist - Skill bonus damage changed - Hoping its a boost, because it needed it. Either that or some sort of mgdef bypassing property.
Fixed cast times on the other AoE skills? If they increased it I would be sorta mad, but not enough info to make a real comment.
Striking - lol, if they are going to nurf it that much, I hope they increase the duration to more than 90s.

Fire Walk / Electric Walk - They need to remake these 2 skills. Something along the lines of a perma Fire/Lightning Walk (less squares though ~3-5) that just drains sp over time.
As of now its such a useless skill. Very hard to use while leveling and does not do enough damage when you actually set it up. Also, last time I used it, it always positionlagged the monsters that ran through it.

Hardly anyone one plays kRO Sakray who can tell us the exact changes so it's hard to comment whether some of these are good or bad. That change in cooldown time for Severe Rainstorm could be really bad since that's the only leveling skill we have that's meaningful (unless the change to Great Echo damage is massive).

Also, who can I send a PM (Oda or Heim) to fix some of the current Maestro/Wanderer descriptions? I tried submitting a ticket but it never got anywhere.

Current: Can only be used if equipped with bow
What we want to change: Can be used even if equipped with instrument/whip

Arrow Vulcan:

THIS~! I want. Seriously, with the nature of the skill a 1.8second cast time is bull-_-. you want to SAVE yourself not stand there casting while so and so is smacking you across the face. Make it instant cast or very small tiny cast but have a cool down of like x seconds to prevent complete spammage.

For Sorcerer, Spell Fist needs the damage boost or the bolts need to be scaled to renewal specs, would be nice if it worked damage wise with double bolt and spell fist could be activated via hindsight bolts as well (just a thought).

If they are going to increase the time on PW due to spirit summons make the summons worth it to where they aren't made of glass and they take the proper elemental damage. i.e. A water spirit getting one shotted by a fire skill is stupid. Also give them teleport immunity like a player so they aren't ganged up on before you even appear on the map if possible. Its just the cost of spirits vs their effectiveness isn't a good return on the investment tbh.

If they nerf striking that bad please give a free skill reset, I want those 20 points or so back for other scholar skills D:

If DSL from music classes can be cast in pvm again why can't Arullo be cast in pvm as well like it was back on the test server? Only fair to be honest.

I guess that sounds more like a rant but these are fair questions for my class.

The ones i posted were already tested and they seem not going to be changed from the kRO 4/13 patch. means we have to deal with these skills far more longer than expected.

Ever wonder why performer class has the least population on any server? It's because our skills are so imbalanced that only few people can deal with it and play with it. even if we can say some of us performers are very good in playing with this, still they haven't reached the class' highest potential due to the fact that these skills are uber nerfed.

RK aspd with 2hand sword is consoderbly lower then RG with 2hand spear or mechnaic with 2hand axe (all 3 have a quicken skill for their weapon and weapons are compareable in atk/usefulness)
base aspd for RK is 141 with 2hand sword(LOWER then LK(144) and even RG(147)) for RG is 146 with 2hand spear for mech is 148 with 2hand axe(iro only aspd kro uses different aspd formula and changed the aspd values for most classes after iro got renewel and befor getting new formula) wich results in about 3 aspd difference with high agi/dex(about 15-20% less hits/sec)
and the aspd rune should not be REQUIERED to achive SAME aspd as the others as it requiers to hunt low lvl enemies and need high stats/joblvl to create at acceptable chance
and also RK have the worst quicken skill for their weapon which just gives aspd where RG get up to 30crit and 20flee and useable with 1hand spear and mechanic has party wide aspd increasement for 3 different weapon classes
and the crtl-click dmg increasement is not that differetn on those clases(enchant blade/shieldspell/smith battle buffs)

suggestion would be increase RK 2hand swoed base aspd by ~5 to match RG and give the exact same stats for 2hand quicken as spearquicken and a smaller flee/crit buff to all effected for adrinaline rush maybe since party wide buff
(maybe do same for 1hand sword and 1hand quicken)

I didn't notice your post, although I totally agree that those skills need to be fixed. AV needs an even shorter aftercast delay than what you mentioned though, since it would still be less useful than just DSing. The animation itself was a long enough delay already...and Severe Rainstorm being a bow only skill is rather silly as well...=(

Anyway, was talking about the skill changes Oda posted about. It'd be nice to actually test changes before we get them several months or a year later and have to wait another several months or a year before we can get them fixed for us.

How about you just put patches in the way they are supposed to be?
On these forums, you will mostly get retards that want things that aren't in need of changing and that have extreme bias for their particular class.
I think you should just put it in the way kRO intends it to be and if you HAVE to make changes, do it after the fact.
