its actually better this way since it will proc the level you learned opposed to just level 1

I'm thinking of doing a swirling petal build. Obviously, that isn't so great for single target and i need to be orobo first. What do people use when leveling? And for ST damage once you do have swirling petal?

From what i see, seems you could use a melee-ish build, using haze slasher and shadow slash. Huuma have good atk and str and dex will help the damage from swirling petal when i do get it.

 

Any other routes?

im kinda confused on your question... youd be a  throwing build so youd use throw kunai and throw huuma skills to level... that would be the quickest most effetive way to level....

Is that info accurate? Seemed like they weren't that great.

I also though kunai costed 28z to make each, but just noticed it's for 10 per 28z. Much more resonnable.

 

Once i'm done with the throwing skills and cicada, what should i go for with the remaining points?

the wiki (at least as far as ninja classes is concerned) is total crap..... truth is people got spoiled by a error in damage from throw kunai that happened when renewal came out and skills were rebalanced...throw kuani isnt even nerfed as many people claim its merely reverted to its proper damage levels... if left as it was you would never have needed any other skill than throw kunai and its damage was OP ... the damage no longer does 30k on monsters which is ridiculous to expect from ANY skill on a first class character however the skill is still highly spamable and has 5 elements vs the slow casting a 3 elements of magic  ... half the information is missing and the other half is either wrong, biased, or incomplete.... if you're going pure throw build get throw huuma 5, ninja mastery 10, dagger throwing 10, shadow slash 5 and i would suggest mirror image 6 and killing stroke 6... youll aim for high str dex and vit with decent agi and a lil int for SP consumption.... at max level you can get 100 in str, dex, vit, and agi wil around 60 points or so in int

Cool, thanks for the correction. When you say decent agi, is it only for the damage boost in swirling petals or for something else. (want to know if i can wait before boosting it or it will help in ninja too)

Since i'm not used to vit build, how much should i get when leveling compared to str and dex? Half of it, keep all 3 the same, or something else?

It's really 28z per kunai. The cost per batch is 280z/10 so 28z per kunai.

 

I wasn't spoiled by the previous kunai power so I find throw pretty decent on a 1-on-1. Throw huuma is total crap though unless have calm mind huuma. Shuriken is nice if you want to save kunais in finishing off enemies.

 

Kunai will be your main damage dealer. If you go for elemental weakness, you can finish enemies off in 2 hits. Level 90+ enemies will die in 4 hits. Try getting blaze huuma for cheap power.

 

Hehe, I skipped killing stroke for shuriken power just to see how strong it can get. It still deals pathetic damage.

you can wait til later to get agi but youll want your vit pretty high to start since you dont want monsters one shotting you super easy.... agi will really be mostly for just avoiding getting hit in teh first place.... with high vit and agi it makes it alot harder to take you down (i know a melee kagerou who rips through MVPs).... ninja and even kagerou have crappy HP mods so high  vit is really a must for any build really... agi not so much but the less damage you take the better... and it means not having to bounce all over while using css....

Question for the huuma shurikens. Can you buy any of them? Seems like they are only rare drops from 70+ monster or quest items that need a lot to get. Wondering if there's an easier way for a lowbie to get one. =/  (even the Eden one, you need to be 60+)

Also, can't seem to find how you get Huuma Fluttering Snow and Thunderstorm

 

Any free way for a ninja to go to Amatsu? Didn't think of saving there and i'm out of shuriken/kunai. I've been leveling with ctrl+click with a dagger. lol  Soon i'll have enough to get there (10k) but then i don't have money for the shurikens/kunai.

 

Oh, and when you mentionned 100 for str/dex/vit. Do you mean base stat or a total of 100 with the job bonuses and equipments?

you can find huuma vended in prontera for fairly cheap... you cant really use a huuma til level 42 (for the weakest one)... the fluttering snow huuma is dropped from ice titans and the thunder huuma is dropped by samurai specter... the best huuma the petal huuma is made from a calm mind huuma[2] and 100 broken shuriken.. huuma calm mind (best huuma for ninja) is dropped by kapha... there is no free way to Amatsu.... i perma save there to save zeny... as for stats 100 base is what i meant

Kinda silly you can have throw huuma at a very low level but can't use it.

 

On the other hand, the blaazing one is one of the quicker you can use and one of the strongest. =D

its kinda like how kunai explosion for kagerou is a crappy skill if you get it at lower levels rather than waiting to get it later because your base and job level effect its damage...

Hello, I wanna ask a question, is CD-In Mouth suitable for Swirling Petal/Kunai Explosion ? I mean will it proc ? I've tested it a few times, doesn't seem to be working for me :\.

it will proc the "window" but will not proc the effects.... the CD has a time window where every melee hit will proc various bolts.... skills can open that window of time but not trigger the bolts themselves.... you have to melee to trigger the bolts when the window is open... a pillar of light will announce the window of opportunity

so you're saying that a damage level that's almost 1/4 the damage it was BEFORE their balance patch after kag/oro were released on iRO ISN'T a nerf?  Sure seems like a nerf to me.  Dex doesn't increase damage by much at all now like they said it's supposed to, because my kag right now is a throw build.  

 

P.S. i leveled mine over the last 3 days as a ninja WITH ONLY throw shuriken until level 42, THEN HUUMA ONLY.  I hit Kagerou yesterday and My Swirling petal damage is pretty nice with a Huuma Calm Mind, since the description does not say whether or not SP can be interrupted or not, because T.H. can't be anymore, and with Calm mind it ensures that I can't when using SP because ninja skills can't be interrupted when holding a HCM, which also does not add the variable cast time increase like a phen.  Damage without Charms/endow to Headless mules in low TI currently, almost 7.1k, with earth charm at 9 it's closer to 10k, with water endow and 9 earth charms it's over 16k.  My Throw Huuma is over 10k with such.  Don't count out THS just because it's a 3x3 crap range, because damage is NOT shared evenly between targets anymore, ALL targets take it's full value damage.

it wasnt a nerf it was a fix to a damage calculation bug from the first balance patch that came out right after renewal hit... its simply been reverted to it prerenewal damage is all... i use Swirling petals as my main attack and follow up with any other skills as needed... i too use throw huuma on occassion... of course i also use magic, kunai explosion, and cross slash and melee skills as well...

Honestly if the DEX and AGI are truly not in parentheses, then the skill is flat out useless. It'd do 1/3 the damage of exploding kunai. It'd need strings just to be on par with good skills, in which case the good skills would also be way better.

Sadly, strings does not seem to affect the cooldown/cast delay that the skill has.  Been in parties all week with strings and it had no effect on SP at all.

well it depends, whether you want more Dmg or more SP, if you gonna leave your hat at +4 or less than a Blue Acidus card is better, 5% more SP regen. If you gonna +9 it then Carat card. For more dmg, Dark Pinguicula.

Well I'd say save the Marduk for a Mid-slotted headgear. The upgrade-able headgears should be used with a card that has bonus stats for upgrading like Carat and such.

i suppose... im using +9 CoD of Torment myself for the cast time reductions... if SP doesnt kill whatever im fighting the almost instant Kunai explosion follow up does...

hi, i just resetted my kagerou and i want to know some things.

 

1. which is faster for lvling?? swirling petal/kunai explosion??

2. if its swirling petal, is it ok w/out huuma petal since its only for lvl110+. i'm only 105. what are other alternatives??

3. is blaze shield a good mob control for using kunai explosion?? since i can't really get max KS w/ new skill builds since i'm also getting rapid throw

4. after the prerequisite skills are taken for throw build, what other skills should i get??

5. where to lv 105 kagerou throw build (w/out TI since i'm on a diff server) either swirling petals/kunai explosion??

6. any equipment that i should get?? i'm planning to get the quest armor and shield w/c has auto cast shadow and cast delay reduction.

 

my equip right now:

+9 evil marching hat of reload

elven ear of reload

gangster scarf (atk+5)

arctic armor

+7 rwc kingbird / +9 4xKingbird mg

+6 shoes of wonderer

+9 mystic heroic backpack

rwc ring str1 fs3/2 gold scaraba / phen rwc pen s3/1 dex1

 

that's my questions right now. if u have any more info/advice pls tell me thx.

getting kunai explosion right off the bat will make you sad by its damage... Kunai Explosion damage is effected by base and job levels... swirling petal has a much better aoe even if its not as strong... as for the rest of it... i dont even know what youre thinking....
