My dad used my second birthday as an excuse to buy himself and my older brothers a super nintendo... Against all odds I climbed my way to the top and totally owned them in all future gen consoles to this very day. Know dat feel XD. Sadly I don't think I have much if any pictures of my youth gaming.

Exactly in one of the guilds I was in on a game there was even a lady's only channel in ventrilo that the female officer had the password to haha. Because the guild leader had to scold creepy guys almost every day for hitting on us and sometimes it got out of hand.

Especially if they breathe really hard into the microphone it's just sort of skeevy.

Men I don't mind you guys but can you not just treat us like people instead of circus acts and it's good.

Well to be fair it irks me equally when your playing a game and one of the players is going ''HEY LOOK AT ME GUYS I'M A GIRL GAMER'' and then if somebody dares to critize them the white knights have a field day on them.

I don't think I've ever really encountered people doubting if I'm female in MMOs. It's sorta weird. I hear it all the time but I never experience it.

I have had people tell me that I need to stop tanking because girls can't tank and they should go play a healer. Which I laugh at. DAMN I PROBABLY HAVE BEEN TANKING LONGER THAN YOU'VE PLAYED MMOs.

I can usually keep flirting to a minimum by making sure people know every early on that I'm a lesbian, and my girlfriend is better in bed than they could ever hope to be.

This thread makes me kinda sad - it's unfortunate to see a thread glorifying females, which indicates that being a female is still a problem.
I usually just leave party/block out people who behave weirdly - if they start nagging about if I'm irl female or male, it's obvious they're not really into playing the game and our objectives are different. Same goes for begger and gamer gurlz - alongside with many other types of people. I've received enough pictures of people's weiners and weird comments to last a lifetime. I think it's usually the certain types of people who do this and after you avoid *those* people, the rest of the human kind if pretty decent and doesn't give much crap about your sex, unless they're still in the "I need a girl because then my life will be delightful!" -delusion.
