How about

Increases damage with holy elemental magic attacks by 3%.

Increases heal rate with skills by 3% and an additional 1% for every 2 refine to the headgear.

When performing a close range physical attack, there is a chance to cast level 3 magnus exorcismus.

If refined +6 or higher, increases holy elemental magic attacks by an additional 10%, and further increase holy elemental magic damage by 2% for each additional refine past +6.


(Should be, at +7, a total of +15% damage, +6% heal)
(Should be, at +12, a total of +25% damage, +9% heal)

And even if we still go with the Kettle Hat argument it still leaves out Volcano and Whirlwind.

The idea is for hindsight sages? Cuz if not autocasting waterball seems better, or snake head, eddga doll, etc.

Well it's for Hindsight, Auto Shadow Spell, and any other autocasting build

The idea came from a friend of mine who was helping me think a build for Auto Shadow Spell. I mentioned the deluge effect from Kettle Hat and he lamented about how he couldn't cast Volcano for Meteor Storm and then I wondered the possibilities of even using Whirlwind for LoV?

I then looked into the available damage increase for the 3 Wizard AoEs and found that MS had lots of increase everywhere, LoV only had a chance for good increase if you get an Elvira (which is MvP correct?), and SG had one measly card and Kettle Hat which isn't reliable due to the waterball cast. The Waterball cast, btw, is more of a burden than it is a help unless you are standing in map-water, otherwise it continuously soaks up the Deluge for damage that is only moderate while the deluge also increases Max HP by percent which is helpful for tanking.

Edit:
If you're an Auto Shadow Spell chaser and copy Waterball, the Rainy Day hat will allow better DPS than the Kettle as the Kettle can only autocast level 3 while a chaser could autocast level 5 (and I think 10? I heard they can and I heard they can't). The Rainy Day would allow for much more DPS.

Rainy hat for sages maybe

Increases damage of cold bolt by 8%. Additional +1% cold bolt damage for every refine of the headgear.
When attacking, there is a chance to cast deluge level 5.
When dealing water elemental magic damage, there is a moderate chance to cast Level 1 heal on yourself and level 3 decrease agi on the enemy.

If refined +7 or higher, level 2 heal and level 5 decrease agi are used instead.
If refined +9 or higher, level 3 heal and level 7 decrease agi are used instead.

Interesting but
I didn't want to balance it around sages because when they become sorcs they have insignias that allow them to tank efficiently while also doing a helluva lot of increased elemental damage. Hindsight builds would love it sure but they'd probably get a better benefit from the Inubarashi hat, so I wanted it to be more universal so other classes can take advantage.

Eh we don't really have aneed for that. The community headgear is just way to op and stifles innovation (it has like +5 aspd among things!). Other classes don't need too buff autoattack spell damage. Chasers are the only ones and buffing storm gust damage is a bad idea.

That's the thing though, there is ONE CARD that increases SG damage by 5% and I can't find any gears.
The only ways to autocast SG are via an MvP Card or Auto Shadow Spell

And be honest with me, do you think it'd make ASS Chasers so powerful it'd break the server? XD

SG and LoV can't stack like MS does, nor do they have the damage increase like MS does, so it railroads ASS Chasers who want to cast an AoE into MS which does a lot more damage than Autocasting SG or LoV because they DONT stack. So I figured buffing the other two would allow them to compete with the MS spam. Even with these headgears though they would just barely touch the MS damage auto-casters put out.

That's how it appears anyway, if someone could do math for it that'd be cool.

The reason they don't stack and can't be easily buffed is they are already way strong. for example, my 2nd class (not trans or 3rd) wizard can already do ~65k damage with storm gust vs fire enemies... with no cards or gears boosting her water/sg damage. Just matk. Lov is a lot weaker than sg but is easier to buff (e.g. elvira card).

Just a heads up for people, I think you should look at existing headgears when designing your own. For almost every example of a proposed headgear this is something in game with a similar "framework", this "framework" will help you submit plausible stats for a headgear.

In the bRO server there is a headgear very popular among the autocasters, the Super Nimbus.

Chance to cast lightning bolt level 5 or Thunder Storm level 5 when attacking psychically (melee).

 

Uses learned Skill Level.

The chance to cast a spell increase with the level of acquired skill.

Type: Headgear

Position: Upper

Weight: 50

Slot: 0

Req. Level: 30

Class: All Jobs

 

Here, another popular headgear in the bRO server, this one is a nerfed version.

 

Bridal Ribbon

autocasting level 10 heal on yourself as a tank could be pretty OP; depends on the refine rate. I feel like one of the community hats we submitted had this effect and the devs kicked it back saying that it'd be too strong.

 

Super Nimbus? I could definitely see why autocasting an AoE while physically attacking would be a popular hat. :P

I will throw this one out and I will be done.

 

TITLE: Headband of Indomitable Spirit

TYPE: Upper Headgear

WEIGHT: 10

SLOT: 0

REQUIRED LEVEL: 50 (Negotiable)

 

CLASS: TK and TKM

DESCRIPTION: a headband with a foreign inscription for "Indomitable Spirit" which makes its wearer move like water and be firm like earth.

 

STATS/CHARACTERISTICS: 

a ) 2 DEF

b ) +2 STR/+2 AGI

*c ) Increases Flying Kick damage by 10% while increasing SP cost by 20% (or more)

**d ) If refined +7 or higher, enable an increase in Solar, Lunar, Heat damage by 2% (or 1%) per refine level by a low chance (.1%-1%).

 

* This could be for all kicks but I did not want it to be too OP.

** If this is thought to be too high it could be set to +9 starting out or set to 1% increase in damage at a low chance.

Already possible

There's a shield card that does it. I use it on autocast tanks. It's awesome on MS Tanks cause you rarely need potions.

Aw. Isn't lv10 autoheal only possible with the card combo set? Or does it really work with the sole EPT card?

Ahhh its level 10 heal (if you have it). So a "rare" RG build with lvl 10 heal could tank w/ level 10 heals. Or a bishop or sura.

 

 

  • Adds a 2% chance of using [Heal] Lv 1, or Lv 10 if learned by the user, on the user when doing a physical attack.
  • Set bonus with Rideword Card, Geographer Card, Cookie Card, Fur Seal Card:
    • Vit +10
    • Reduces the variable cast time of skills by 10%.
    • Reduces the SP cost of skills by 10%.
    • If used by an Acolyte job type:
      • Reduces damage received from [Demon] and [Undead] races by 30%.
      • Increases the experience given from [Demon] and [Undead] race monsters by 5%.

 

 

Putting such an effect on a headgear would be more powerful, since you won't take roughly +50% damage from monsters xP

yea, i wont sacrifice my shield card slot just for 2% heal chance. shrine maiden hat even do better, but it is only for AB and procs pretty often at 5%. so, a hat that does autoheal and can be used by everyone will be pretty useful.

so, a hat that does autoheal and can be used by everyone will be pretty useful.

I think that we need more autoheal equipment, specially a headgear, would be nice if we could have one that all jobs could use. Not specifically level 1, 5 or 10, but just a equipment that give us the option to auto heal us when attacked, the more heal, of course is better! :D
