was contemplating whether i'd join or not. but yeh. here's my entry @.@ 

decided to go with the original plan (i had 2 monsters in mind, there's just not enough time for both-- since i'm too busy this week)

Process

I didn't take a step by step process because I was too in the zone when painting @_@ Forgot to take pictures of the wanderer egg entirely, oops!

 

1. Gather normal eggs & quail eggs! Wash and drain. (I didn't drain the quail eggs though because they're so small and fragile.)

 

2. Paint quail eggs with white acrylic paint. 2-3 coats cover up their natural spots well.

 

3. Roll out small strips of white clay and attach to quail eggs. I used a 3DS stylus to make the imprints.

 

The finished product! Paint orange spots onto them later.

 

4. Beginnings of Detard!

 

5. Cutting out her scales with an exacto knife in white polymer clay.

 

6. Fun part! Painting!

 

7. Attachin' stuff. 

 

8. Take occasional breaks to pet your kitty otherwise she will whine for attention and interrupt your work.

Hi! Here is my submission for the Monster category: Faithful Manager
 


IGN: Otter.
Server: Chaos Renewal

 

Spoiler Steps!

Step 1: Purchased/Collected materials, boiled the egg and sketched the monster for reference.



Step 2: Stuck wires onto the gold stones using hot glue gun



Step 3: Created the Faithful Manager's stone book using sketching paper and a prop gold stone. I tied the pages with wires and stuck them on with hot glue.



Step 4: Pencil-sketched the monster onto the egg as a guide.


Step 5: Painted the egg and the props/wires using acrylic paint




Step 6: Painted and cut Faithful Manager's glowing aura.


Step 7: Stuck everything together using hot glue and arranged the pieces into place. I stuck the monster on my wall with glue and tore off my wall-paint ><

Step 2: Wound yarn and feathers around the eggs to form hair/FAW/darkness helm and hats (the Maestro's lunatic hat was made of a bottle cap wrapped in yarn)



Step 3: Drew a pencil sketch of the characters on the egg and painted them in with acrylic paint.





Step 4: Drew the emoticons (and the Maestro's Magic Strings), colored them in, cut them up and attached them onto the characters using wires and hot glue.

These steps are similar to my Character Category entry since I used the same materials and methods ^^

Step 5: Prop Creation! Created the gene’s cart from a bottle cap and leftover papers, sketched the monsters on paper and cut them, painted the oridecon blue made from aquarium stones, cut a square of mesh to form the Magnetic Earth base.





Step 6: Hot-glued the characters into place.

Anddd contest is over! Well about an hour ago actually. Sorry I was late to announce since I was wrapping up mine just to share. (Not for contesting since I am the host). Any entries after this will be null from competing.

And imma end it here with my egg. NO REGRETS ON THE bad PUNS.

I didn't manage to take a lot of photo of my progress, since I came up with this pretty last minute and had a busy day. Majority of the time it took was waiting for the clay to harden, paint and glue to dry but overall not a difficult egg to make! :u

 

1.) I washed and emptied two eggs, just in case one breaks.. Can't be too careful!

2.) Made the ears with needle felt wool, I had to stab the wool into the right thickness and then cut it to the right shape. Pasted pink colored paper cut for the inside of the ears. Made the horns with sculpey clay, also the legs but not in the picture. Had to heat gun (or hair dryer..) blow the clays to harden it well.

3.) Glued the ears, painted the face in then glued the wool hair tuft. All of these one at a time while waiting for it to dry.

4.) Added the horns! Had to give this extra time to dry. Forgot to take picture of me painting the horns. ;w;

5.) Added the legs.. Also forgot to take picture of me making the legs, they are simple though.

Overall, didn't intend this to be a complicated project as I was already busy juggling with other things. ;w; It was a lot of fun! Hope you guys like it!
