look, if you've got beef with ragial and ROPD, just send a ticket. because posting on forums isn't going to get you anywhere

also you can build all the same info using a bot or homunc. We used to use homunc AIs to build a private guild db of all players on the server back in the day. So.... It's really nothing to fret about.

Not sure about homun if you can mess with its AI to do like that, grey area?
But for bot, this is what the difference. You get banned but ragial not.

You have the option to hide your info on ROPD, so the "public" can't see it, at this point, the GMs and CMs trust ren, as does a vast majority of the community. The benefits far outweigh the negatives u have stated. Such as ur question as to using the bot to notify the owners of low vends first, chances are, u wouldn't find those low vends without ragial in the first place, in fact, there would be,very little way to identify that it is, in fact, a low vend, due to no way to track said vends, as ragial does(unless it's a big ticket item which happens few and far between). The benefits of ROPD? That public info can help identify potential scammers, as well as if person A had a vend up and closed it, u can find what other chars they have and see if they are online and pm them if they still want,to sell(stalker status but sometimes,benefits both parties) honestly, any negatives u stated are far outweighed by the positives

Previously xellie convinced me that ragial is allowed because its low magnitude of effects.

With your explanation, ragial is allowed because it's more beneficial to public. Same goes to public bot buffers but still not allowed.

At this point I'll wait for GM/CM.

Ultimately you just have to trust us, we review and work with Ragial and ROPD so that they may function within the game community and provide the great services that benefits the community as a whole. Unless something changes that causes Ren to go the dark side we do not see that partnership changing any time soon. If you disagree with that, it is your prerogative.

Why not both, if you have a legitimate concern over WP vetting of these services? If you're wanting an answer it makes no sense to limit your outlets for facilitating the question.

I have a full day planned ahead and to save time and stop going around and around with "What about this? what about that? Have you thought of this? Why not this?". Lets be clear and put it all out on the table. You aren't going to change our policy regarding the Ragial Bot. The only person who can do that is Ren and whatever actions she takes. As it stands it is a massive benefit to the community and will most likely continue to be that way for the future to come.

 

As I said "Trust us to take appropriate action if it is ever needed". That is the extent of it.

May as well be proactive and extend that restriction to character names, guild names, party names, homunculus names, shop names, chat names, and whatever else.

Concern trolling, always a classic. 

 

I have equal parts fondness and disdain for ropd, but through it, I've avoided dealing with at least 4 very shady trades for high cost items/deals that otherwise may have backfired. I also was able to ferret out multiple low-effort scams. For that reason, and because it is not difficult to hide your account, it should stay IMO. 

 

Ragial is doing the lord's work.

 

I also think WP should have more whit-listed bots that they run to do simple stuff and add more flavor to the world. 

 

many games have mobile NCPs that support the players -- think NPC guards in WoW. RO has no such infrastructure (in fact, it has no moving NPCs at all -- they have to teleport). Having a few random bots in key areas, like around Pront or elsewhere, who wander around do simple stuff -- even if thematic -- would be nice.

 

I would imagine something like a Priest bot in the Prontera church where if you ask "bless me father!" it would cast blessing. Or if you ask "god grant me speed" it would cast agi up, etc. 

 

Similarly, a bard who plays music in a central area. Could be posted next to a clickable interaction sigh "donation box" and you can pay various costs of zeny for the bard to play a song, ranging from hp/strings/gems/etc. 

 

But now I am rambling. Ragial is great, and arguments made against it in poor faith to then try to tie into a "so I can bot?" conclusion should be dismissed.

Isn't this already covered in the client edits portion? Or are you asking that it be explicitly stated so some joker doesn't cry ignorance as an excuse?
