Thank you all so much for submitting your questions in the January thread! They were all very excellent, and a handful of them have been shipped out to our developers for answering. We plan on streaming the answers to these questions on Tuesday, January 31 at 3:00PM PST during the Boxing the Compass show, so be sure to tune into twitch.tv/warpportal then!
 
We'd like to start compiling questions for the February edition now, so if you've got a question for our developers in Korea, please post them here!
The answers for February are expected to be aired on livestream on Tuesday, February 28.

Why are you (kRO) so secretive of your damage formulas? It's not like the information will do anything for private servers at this point, they have an established norm.

 

I have been working on damage calcs for a while now and have most of the formula down as it is, but the community would love a fully working calc for each class, it lets them theory craft and min/max their build.

1. When is iRO getting the guild warehouse and the rest of the Clan updates?

2. Will the auction house ever make a return to RO or is that for sure a permanent removal? If permanent removal, why?

3. Why did Doram not receive their own Novice sprite with a job change quest to Summoner? Do you seriously have no plans to allow Doram to have any other job classes and expand their content?

4. Since Dorams are a 1st Class that has been allowed to get to the max level, why not allow the other 1st Classes, 2nd Classes, and Rebirth Classes to get to the max level as well? Are there any plans to make them viable outside of WoE:TE or are they going to be removed out of obsolescence in a future update?

5. Players have expressed interest in playing on a kRO server. Would you be willing to open an English server on kRO for those players or allow players to play on a copy of kRO here on iRO? If not, why do you wish to deny those players a kRO experience, which pushes them to play on private servers?

Curious questions:

 

Could iRO have more opportunities to create equipment for the game? With greater control so that they maintain their intent?

 

Are there plans to increase the level limits of Expanded Super Novice to 175/60? It is arguable that they may need more than Job 60, though. Also, is there a reason why the class wasn't granted more skills from the 2nd and Transcendent Classes? It is, drastically, the opposite of the number of 1st Class skills the class was granted. In addition, a vast majority of 2nd Class and Transcendent skills do not perform well in higher level content, making the life of Expanded Super Novices harder and more rigid in choices.

 

Are you ever going to address the Rogue Class skills Remover (Cleaner) and Piece (Flag Graffiti)? The skills are not implemented and don't do anything, yet they are requirements for other skills.

 

Can we improve the EXP payouts of many quests in the game? Particularly ones suited for the 1-99 range and those that have a lower level requirement, but contain higher level monsters. Barring instances and bounty boards, there are very few quests worth doing because the EXP rewards of the vast majority are utterly horrible and not worth the effort.

 

Have you ever considered revamping the hiring process and performance of Mercenaries? Consuming Loyalty Points (which is very tedious to amass) is more of a deterrent than anything for higher grade Mercenaries, especially when the given skills aren't too helpful with their current mechanics.

 

Would it be possible to implement new higher tier Mercenaries to level with, above 99? We have a few that exist, but those are only tied to quests.

1. any chance cards from moscovia, brasilis and satan morroc to be implemented?

2. about verus cards, why not all monsters got the cards? such as: excavator robot, recon robot, explorer robot and repair robot.
3. tell us what are 'nightmare version' of low level dungeons that will come in the future? so far, payon and geffen already realized.

4. is there any chance new field/dungeons will be filled by champion monsters? it seems like after its batch debut, the champion monsters are never introduced again. Say Verus, nightmare clock tower, and the next updates.

Will Dorams have a wider variety of hairstyles in the future rather than the (I believe six??) we've seen so far?

 

Will there ever be more varied customization options for player sprites, such as increased number of hair colors or skin colors?

 

Have any decisions been made to remove the gender restriction for in-game marriage? Will we perhaps be able to see that sometime this year? It would be nice.

 

Will there be a zeny sink that could deflate the market, f(or example, Rachel Sanctuary back in the day) but to account for the new average currency? I'm talking taking hundreds of billions if not more out of the market.

 

Would it be possible to have a service to turn headgears into costumes? For example if you have a headgear you like the look of but not the stats, you could pay a zeny fee to turn it into a costume? I think this would be very popular for old headgears that don't see much use these days, like drooping kitty, tiara, crown of mistress, boys cap and the like. Heck, this could make for a good solution to the above.

 

Will you look at the rewards for Seals quests, such as the Mjolnir seal? There are only a few rewards that are worth doing the quest for as it stands (such as Ice Pick) and the rest tend to be ignored, especially since the quests are fairly long and tedious. The only time people actually do these quests is if a guild wants to roll the seals and make a God Item, there's no real incentive for the average player to do it anymore since the rewards are very outdated.

They could do a global zeny requirement for Bio5 entry. Say 150b collectively needs to be donated.

Could you explore the possibility of making homunclus battle manual or some type of experience point booster for speeding up the leveling process for them? 
 
Also, could you please make restorative items for homunculi; both HP and SP like that of Mercenary? Be it bought from an npc or created (prefer the former). It would be nice if they weighed 0.

MY question is when are we getting nightmare bio labs and Nightmare glast heim?

With all the new kafra gears we are receiving, we should be able to get these two updates by now i assume. Any thoughts on those two updates?

Also id like to know more about the issue with status immune system. From what we have now if you have 100 of any base stat you are able to be immune to a certain amount of debuffs and ailments. Will there be a update for the current game play of Ragnarok? For example: Increase the amount of stat points you need to hit status immune from 100 base stat points to 120-130 base stat points?

Is possible to add quest skills for Rebellion & Kagerou/Oboro?

 

The neutral kunai & bullets in malangdo are very hard to get with malangdo cans, these ammunition can be more easy to get?

Since we are getting jro ragcan package items, do we also get updated cards through jRO as well?

example:

KRO version

Are there any plans to balance Sura's damage output in PvP/WoE? In particular, Gates of Hell and Tiger Cannon's splash damage ignore reductions, are unavoidable, and kill nearly everyone in a single instant hit.

 Do you have any plan of releasing new forgable item for the blacksmith forging skills or buffed the old abilities and re-balance things a bit by releasing new blacksmith plans to compensate so people would still keep the craft ? The skill has  been stagnant and outdated, way back in 2004 when Ragnarok first started being a weapon forger was fun. But now sage could endow a carded weapon, making it way better than forged elemental weapon and with the elemental converter the craft has died.

Forging is a unique aspect of Ragnarok. P.S make smith's pride be proud again.  :thx:

My questions is about Cards improvement and additional effects

We have some status effect that is too powerful and no card is implemented to counter it like Diamond Dust crystalization and Deep Sleep and some other status effects..

any chance we can have some defence on it through items and cards?
or items/cards to reduce some powerful status effects to 50% in duration

Q: Will you ever implement Paramarket in iRO? It's been months since there is no update about it, if so, when would you implement it and what specific items will it cater in order to have a zeny sink?

 

Would you mind reducing/simplifying some of the tedious quests especially to those entrance to MVP maps like Fallen Bishop and Kiel?

 

What are the exciting updates to look forward to this 2017 until next year? 

 

Do you have plans in revamping the graphical interface of Ragnarok Online? Since there are other players who play in private servers for a reason that they have nice graphics than the official servers.

1. Mado Mechanic get severe penalty if they die in instance, as their Madogear blow up and can't go back to town to repurchase Mado. Would it possible to make usable item that enable equipping Madogear like Hunter flute? (Make it heavy weight and consume zeny)

 

2. What is the plan on optimizing Sorcerer's summon spirit skill and Spell Fist?

 

3. Kagerou and Oboro ultimate skill (Shadow Warrior and Moonlight Fantasy) has little usage yet it require large amount of skill points. Is there any plan on revamping the skill so it worth the skill points spent? (Maybe give Shadow Warrior a chance to double cast some skills like Summoner did? *wink wink*)

 

4. Is there any plan to implementing nightmare version of old dungeon other than Illusion of Moonlight and Illusion of Vampire?

 

5. Please revamp M.Def system as it is now make magic caster class really suck

1. Can we have a HP increase for archbishops in the future? the HP is too low for a support class... also the delay is too much too..

 

2. Glorious gear has no bennefit  cause we got WoE set. Can It be recicled (possible idea slot card add)?

 

3. Can we get an update for floral/ukulele gear to stack with eerald rings (like remove the accessory  requireent to get the buff?
Can you improve wing headphone to be more atractive

I would just like to expand on the answer to my question from the latest Q&A, because the question was reduced so much the answer given really doesn't address anything that was bad about the current system.

 

The Mora enchant system is just plain bad RNG, I would ask that someone here try using over 1000 coins and see what they get from it. It's one of those systems that leaves me thinking that we need safe refines in order to make it useful.

 

kROs system does not address the major problems, it in fact adds a few more to it but eh.
