When you transcend, get to 70/1 on 2nd job and instead of talking to her again to get 99, grind elsewhere until job 21. Then you return to her and get 99/70.

 

updating: I got to job 70 using the free bm you get from eden npc, VIP exp bonus and donating 50% base exp to a guild. I thought that each job exp tick was large enough to give the most exp possible. Anyway, besides VIP exp bonus, the other two modifiers (not sure if the guild one really matters) are easily obtainable ingame.

as someone said, when you reborn, get job lvl 10 as novice, change to 1st job, then talk to janeway until you get to lvl 70, change to 2nd job, get to job lvl 21 and return to janeway. probably using only the free BM does the job to get you to lvl 70.

Thank you very much. One of my friend somehow didnt make his job change before lvinh to 55 by janeway. Hes now stuck with a char with base lv 99 and job lv 1 :/

I did notice some bugs with this event also. I made 2 new char, doing jumping janeway at the same time.

 

After finishing the quest that make you base 55 and job 50, while taking the next quest, one of the char automatically got lvl2 eden set, while the other one did not.. >.< Now both char have finished the next quest which made them level 70 and still job 50 (first job, i thought it will get the job change done automaticlaly too lol) 

 

Now question for you, I've taken the next quest already, which is janeway request 7: killing 100 Kapha. Is it the one that you mentioned? - will make you 99/50 when finished? Should I grind to job level 21 like you said then turn in this quest?

 

Or do I have to quit this quest and only take it after I reach job 21? (How can I even quit a quest?) Thank you for your help!

I haven't done the 99/50 quest but she will usually level you up to max as a pre-trans character. The issue with Janeway is the amount of exp she gives post-transcending. Since the EXP curve is slightly higher than before, what you end up with, if you go the usual way is a 99/50 trans class (post Kapha turn in the second time around) instead of 99/70. The OP's method involves leveling somewhere for the first 20 job levels, so that when you turn in the final quest, your character is now 99/70 and ready to change to the 3rd class. Otherwise you are left to grind out the remaining 20 job levels elsewhere.

dang it, I already did it and get lvl 99/50 on my champ. Too bad I cant delete/create again cause it at slot 11, and I dont have vip anymore.

So while your tip was very helpful, I was still a n00blet and did not job change my high novice until she was level 70/10 and now I end up with a 99/50 high swordsman --> a 99/1 lord knight ahahahahahahah. ded at how funny anyone can royally eff up their chars if they do this wrongly

Same did my friend... he sent a ticket but gm cant do anything about it...
So he might have to delete this char :/

Is getting exp for trans class job levels really that bad? 20 jobs doesn't seem like too bad of a tradeoff for a "free" 99 to me...

Job changing is much safer at the respective job levels. Pre-trans, there is no risk since you max out at 99/50 and there is no further class progression until you rebirth. For post-trans, this can be a pain since as one of the users above posted, if not done right, you can end up with a maxed out character but having 1 job level. Think of it this way, what would you usually do if the npc wasn't around? You'd quick change once job level was maxed right? Follow that rule of thumb. The only thing you need to note is that at 70/1 as a 2nd class trans character, do not turn in the Kapha quest. Grind the first 20 job levels via Bounty Boards etc., and then turn in the quest to reach 99/70. Otherwise, Janeway will only level you up to 99/50 and you will be left to grind the last 20 job levels by yourself.

It isn't a bad trade-off if there was a way to escape it. The main issue is that grinding the exp as trans class for the last 20 job levels carries a much higher combined jexp as opposed to the first 20 levels which has a lower jexp requirement. So in the end it depends on how much time you have on your hands.

Yup, tried it on another trans char again.

 

High novice --> janeway until 35/10 --> change to 1st 'high' job --> janeway until 55/50 --> change to 2nd trans job --> janeway until 70/1, grind til 70/20, then janeway until 99/70. 

 

I havent tested it all the way until 99/70 but i reckon it should be something like this.

Ppl will still spam enter and f up things occasionally, but thats on them at that point

I did the supernovice option and it only brings you to 99/83 instead of 99/99 ;( looks like imma go back to never using that character ever again.
