Easiest way I can see "teaching" all of the new mechanics with the new God Seal is allowing guild leaders from all the servers (maybe increase max guild size to 76 or something on there) to goto Sakray and have a GM just run thro the dungeon with the all of them all that once... I'm down to record it and youtube and all that good :ani_meow: to show an example of what it looks like...

Also, what (in this new version of GD and such) is being done to prevent people from using 3rd party programs to simply bypass anything like entering chat rooms and such? If people aren't gonna get banned or have their items broken for it, theres no reason to not use it.

Astratos,

We do plan on running it on Sakray, and hopefully enough guilds will participate so we can at least get 2 factions to go for it. Somehow we do need the actual seals to be run through as well as that is part of the "advantage" gaining.

idk what the exp/drop rate on sakray is but if it's atleast 50x/50x and free seal quest reset, shouldnt be too hard to scrounge up a few dozen volunteers to run through and test the whole system in the span of a few hours

hmm... i guess alternatively, a free level NPC, free zeny NPC and a trader with the req'd items to do the quest along with free quest resetter might make it quicker. gotta make it easy for people to get involved in this, if we have to grind along at like 3x, collect items ourselves, do all the dirty work, i doubt more than 3 people will bother.

i guess you can count me in, so long as it doesnt waste more than an hour or two of my time.

I agree to this. Also this is a good avenue to test on skills if it needs tweaking. a very high rate server would be great.

Also, I do agree that KVM/BG Bows and Instruments needs tweaking.

x50 rate?

I would totally hide in Sakray and test everything, seals, KVM for all the classes [I just hope there is a quick way to get KVM medals]... And stuff. I love testing ^_^

In all the cases, I support a new way to make god items. The actual way is someway "stupid" now.

Seal release, 1 minute later, the item is done.

Okolnir [for Asprika/Bryn] has like a 30 minute quest. The other god items could have a quest like that.

Okay, a guild dungeon with level 120~140 monsters would be pretty decent, maybe 150 monsters of each, and with GvG on... This would be madness~~~~~~ "Just keep your leader alive"

The current way rewards the organized Personally I dont have a problem with the way it is the ppl who get ninjaed who are complaining personally I dont care either way its the same for me because it rewards the more organized group and really thats how it should be its a "guild event" it should be organized.

This may end up being a long wall of text that will be part rant and part insight as to what is happening and what we hope to do about it. Any feedback you have is welcome, especially if there are points here that are not clear.

Ragnarok Online has been Gravity's Baby since 2002 when it went pay 2 play in Korea. Since that time tons of partner versions have opened up around the world. iRO was one of the first non kRO versions around, and we had a great time in open Beta period when there weren't even 2nd classes in existance. Since 2002 the game has greatly expanded and changed. New classes, new systems, new ways of competing, all have been introduced, and along the way the community outlook has changed. Looking back at materials such as loading screens, fansites and even our own little collection of screenshots it is easy to see that the feelings in the game are different. The reasons for that are probably as diverse as the people having them but I know competition, long time of playing, real life, getting older and even how we service Ragnarok probably factor highly into the joy in the community.

I can speak for most of the team here that has been around since before 2005, when I say we came to work here and stayed here because we love RO, we played it since the olden times, and have played it with friends and had many smiles along the way, but things don't quite feel the same now as they did then.. The play styles over the years has certainly gotten more aggressive and abuse of players/systems etc have certainly risen. Those behaviors used to be from the deviants of the community, but now it seems to a prevailing attitude that definitely lowers overall joy and positive feelings in Ragnarok. I know that Renewal certainly didn't help, although its intentions were certainly good and the premise was solid just not the implementation. Right now Ragnarok is doing "ok" but ok is not where I want to be, I want to see new players enter, I want to see old vets return and have fun, I want to see WoE actually have a point rather than feeling like it is a necessary chore.

In the past I would pass much of the changes to the dev team to fix correctly, but at this stage the issues are numerous enough and the ideas plentiful enough that I believe we can make great strides towards these goals with just our own team here. One thing that I know we can't do, is not to try, we must get things moving in the right direction, if we can gain momentum from you we can keep it going and get more support to make the changes even faster with the Development teams support. Stagnation is the greatest enemy a game and community can have and frankly I love this game too much to let that happen. I hate my job when I have to say NO to good ideas, so for now we are going to try the "if we can make it happen then we will make it happen" idea and skipping some of the long approval and dev creation steps.

So with that out of the way I want to actually talk about what crazy ideas we are going to start pushing in May.

  • Seal quest Revamps Early May: This will improve the seal quest rewards. Make parties better able to do the quests together (so bottlenecks are eliminated) already the Divorce Devi can reset your Seal quest status with a Reset stone.
  • God item creation revamp late May: Brining actual competition back in the item making. This will be controversial but I do believe it will be fun. After seals close the dwarfs take 10 minutes or so to open a portal to a new guild dungeon that is only open when making god items. A tougher set of monsters will be in there, and a long kill count that only the item creator can undertake WITH THEIR GUILD IN THAT DUNGEON. After the count is complete the dwarf will let you in to make the item. Those pushing the seals with each turnin get to vote on which of the 4 realms they want to open. The winningest vote gets in early to the special dungeon. If no creation happens in 6 hours seals open up at 10 away from releasing, kill counts reset on subsequent entries so you can't prestock the kill count.
  • Safe way to "lend" god items.
  • Monsters in the guild dungeons will be reviewed at this time as well to make them more gooder.
  • New Player game play update Mid May: New players have a heck of a time knowing what is going on, the tutorial system need love, website needs updating, eden group needs more "notice" from new players.
  • Level penalty being hacked out.. (late May Early June) : We will have to review all the monsters current level and exp and the exp that characters need to level. Both will get updated so we have a "kills per level" system that players can go faster than by taking on bigger challenges. I already expect oversights with this as it is a HUGE potential update, so your patience is appreciated when we screw up with it.
  • 13.3 is going to start internal testing in Late May. We expect it to get onto Sakray shortly after USRC is done, and hopefully we can have a neat game update in the middle of summer for once for players to enjoy.
  • The skill updates that HQ has done over the last year, we are Indian Leg Wrestling currently to get those ASAP. Even though they are not perfect they are better than now, and I would rather us try to make changes on something that has a better base than the shaky one we currently have for skills.
  • Kafra shop stuff: There is a GUI for the kafra shop that we are working on so that the NPCs are no longer necessary. We also are working with getting new Dyes, the cool mounts and hopefully by end of summer the "Costume System". These are all things that we have wanted every bit as long as you all have, so those are definitely on our asap list.
  • We are also going to be making more VIP content like special hard dungeons (will be level restricted to make sure it stays a challenge) that can give gear as rewards as well as fast leveling. Those without VIP can get in for 30 days by using a Reset Stone. Those Reset Stones will likely get a name change to be something like "Wonder Stone" or something spiffy like that, but those are the things we use to keep VIP great but those that still want to do so, able to do so.
And outside the game we are going to be changing how the community team here works. Right now we spend much of our time just coping with the forums and not actually reaching out to our community to draw them in or to build new communities. This is important on so many levels that we need to break out of our "doldrum" and get moving. What this means is we want to involve you the community more in being ambassadors for the game you love. Our Forum Moderators are all volunteers who put great efforts into helping; none of this is possible without our Community mods we currently have and new ones we want to bring in. We will try to recruite some more Moderators from our titles to be sure we have a big enough team, and then allow them Moderation ability on the entire Forum. We don't expect our Game specialist to be authorities on games they don't normally play, but handling basics like ill-mannered reports is not game specific, and with them helping that is a lot less time consumption our Community team will need to spend doing day to day tasks in the forums. But with that we also need to be better at supplying our Mods with information and guidance so that they can answer questions and know what is going on. And yes our bigger forum duty will be handling the mods rather than the individual posts. We will still be around to make posts and what not but it needs to be less of our time spent here, as more of it needs to be out there in the outside WarPPortal world getting more play Friends.

All games I've ever played have had problems or things that aren't quite perfect for me, but even with those things the communities still can be positive and wholesome, we need to get back to that Wholesome as it is more fun for everyone and it is far more likely to attract new players, so very likely the forums will go through a change more towards sugar plums and fairy tales in attitude rather than the gritty war forum talk we currently have. We will ask each player to be nice, even when you have a problem to please be nice in how you state it; it is a measure of higher intellect to get an angry point across without being rude/mean/acerbic about it.

<TL DR>
Changes be a comin', keep a smile on your face and happier days will arrive!

First and fore-most, the first lesson about Gameplanet, is it's understanding not yet install by Travelers from Society...

Gameplanet is not about awards, money, status, legendary, the best game, how long a certain Dynasty stands in the spotlight, and so forth. It's about establishing an understanding with priceless creations, and travelers venturing that creation, though many explorers take the shortcut to Gameplanet's understanding, wherein on Gameplanet, such shortcuts to Game World's understanding doesn't exist, thus many conscious kneel before misunderstanding...

As a Advisor, envolving daily activities on Planet Ragnarok, there's many treasures more than one that needs digging up, so i'll dig up a few. (A PVP Server World) would make Team Rocket elite, and upgrades i'll share after some Planet Ragnarok adventures.

Planet Ragnarok is a bit off course, and since my relanded, my research will reach Weapons pacing in retirement, but it needs an air-wave for it to work. I ask only one thing in return, but i have to regain my strength first in lvls.

(There's only one rule on Gameplanet, never compare Gameplanet to Society, or Society to Gameplanet. If you do, or titles for representing Planet Ragnarok, under a Game Dreamer influence, sings so, in Gameplanet under a Society influence, the stage will be set for 12 hours of proper fussing.) Loyalty First. :o

Hmmm..I was actually thinking of posting a new topic here about the future changes in RO, and I was kind of thinking that, will it be true? I saw this site where there are gonna be some future major updates to RO, not only balances, formula changes, skills etc, but something more...graphical. The site indicates that there will be mounts and backpacks? is this true? If it is, then I'd support this game till the end.

You want to know why the community has been going down hill, and you cant find those happy players anymore Heim?

I have been on and off iro since the beginning.

I remember when gms didnt speak english and even a time when one gm decided to kill everyone in prontera and talk in gm voice to the entire server and tell us off.

I loved how hard the game was and how you had to work at things, (of course there have been glitches and things to exploit ever since then, which I avoided).

It was the year that guild wars was coming and at the time I thought the botting was at its peak (learned my lesson there).

Whole guilds of botters and maps full of them. And back then we knew who the botters were too.

Then Came name change.....great now who knows who the botters are.

Oh wait before that was the free month right? with the bot armies?

And and at some point we got kafra shop. And the first thing we do there is allow people to buy things that are really closely resembling things or are things, that people ahve worked hard to get. Black Cat Hat and Maj Goat and such. Thus for the people who spent hours making things or making things to sell you destroyed the price of things for them.

Ok I shouldnt continue, or should sum it up.

Bot
bot bots
Kafra boxes with things that should never have been entered into game or back into game.
paid bots

more bots
And above all else more bots, getting some people ahead and others get tired of it.

Well people will prolly try to flame this post but to be honest its all just true.
People stayed because the game itself is original.
Slowly people get tired of all the bs and leave. Most come back from time to time but its a new server and such.

_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~

My suggestion to the future of iro:

1. hire a team , take volunteers (trusted ones who dont play iro themselves) something and just take care of all bots, on all servers. I do mean all servers, just because the "free" server doesnt pay per month doesnt mean it isnt bringing in a ton of revenue. Kill the bots, Hell you can really target the paid servers cus you already got thier money for the month. Just means if they want to bot they have to pay again.

2. Add on to the bot, find their main account and ban them too.

3. When you update the kafra shop take out things that are found in game. Make new items that are only found in shop. Would make it more fun too. Make consumables that just make moving around easier cheaper. People will buy more of them. I mean such as dun teleport and wings.

4. Kafra and special event boxes. Dont RErelease items. Make it special that you got those items and never put them out again. It makes them valuable in game and makes the person that two years from now that has it, feel all special. (plus raises the value over time) I dont think there is a problem with ideas (remember the create a headgear contest). If you need another place to look at that does the same take a hing from gaia. I know thats just a forum game thing but they do the same thing.

Lets see so that fair play, bad people banned.. oh I knew I forgot something.

5. Ban all these people for a few days for what they say in public chat. Well announce that you will take care of it and when people report ban them for a few days. I mean I see some bad stuff in public now. Two people just having cyber sex right in the middle of payon.

Now to be honest I am a little nervous to post this. Because the last time I posted something like this on the iro site (before we had forums) I was banned for 7 days for asking them to get rid of bots

There is no such thing as a single 'free' server anymore. They're all free now, just Ymir you have to pay at least once to have access to. On Valk a ton of us have subscriptions now.

This breakdown is LONG overdue, and if anyone reading this don'tunderstand Game langauge, an NPC option's unlimited, including adventures beyond Quests, Training, Guild Wars, PVP, Idem Hunting, Monster Defeats, Black-Marketing, Fame, Wealth, and so forth, which many Explorers from Society believes that's all there is to Planet Ragnarok, maybe your goodwill impressions about Gameplanet is causing population injuries, thus self injuries as well, when one's adventure is just beginning, and somehow did so much research that they missed, not all things are documented in time chronicles, however, Travelers from Society wanted more, missing a hugh adventures for less understanding, and True Gamers residing on Planet Ragnarok who divided there's more that's meet the eye, was condition as illusional, so many Legendary Warriors retreated to M...T... ...y., which it's not on the map, and MVPs is not allowed either. Understanding beyond way people play by, (not including small time campaigns that attract a Warrior's weapon such as, Guild Wars, Wealth, Fame, PVP, Lvl completions, but lvls ARE required), can only get you there. There still exist Regions traditional to wisdow over Zennies.

#1's Reply: Your Gameplanet Masters has misinform your dimension, and i wish to shed light what haven't yet been introduced to your campaign. Planet Ragnarok is established with Class Guilds as we all know, yes, but each Class representation's authorization that's equal to a GM, are different Factions who sits at the same table with GMs, except for the Mercenary Guild, and Private Corp who's numbers surpasses every Guild with ease, and are in their own league, however though, The Swordman, Merchant, Swordman, Thief, Magic, Forrest Bow, not forgetting other classes, do have different views and ideas. Erasing Capital Knight from venturing Gameplanet, is asking the Class Births to cease to exist, after dating hard working so many Ragnarok Dynasty rains, and would unbalance birth right Title Regions.

#2's Reply: I onced agreed bots should be removed. When the 9 of us finally united in M..s..r. C..., i was the last to make it there, there were bots there fogging up the chatline with Blue words, instead of white, so i was like WT., and all that, and went over there clicking on it, then learn major knowledge on NPCs, but only will share the Special NPCs blending in with other NPCs. I was mentally surprised to learn what i already knew, but never had proof, that there are NPCs who've been assign by Keyplayer Guilds to collect data on Warriors, and based on each Warriors decisions, actions, speech's expressions by (anyone's charc), can bring everything to life activating daily events and also alter changes by Dynasties ON Planet Ragnarok, not outside it, which one doesn;t need to visit an NPC for Quests anymore. Instead your Hired by the City you supported the most, in terms of buying and selling idems to NPC for whatever one's reason is. The Guild Counsel and the Bots are somehow related i believe. Almost like Planet Ragnarok Researchers.
I have to cut intell there, but i will save this, NPCs on Planet Ragnarok is as real as us, who my friend, has goals too. Indeed, indeed.

#3's Reply: 10 years ago, just before M..s..r. C..y would have open it's borders, The Knight, Swordman, Mercenary, Merchant, Idem Hunter Guilds, and Private Corp, all traveled different paths just to make it to M..s..r. C..y, since there's no portal that embraces reentries. The Thief Guild had other problems to worry about, so they didn't attend the Sitdown. Rules to The Sitdown, each Guild were to arrive 9 Warriors strong. No weapons. No Army.

The Knight Guild: The Capital City: (GM Representives)
Swordman Guild: Ally
Merchant Guild: Ally
Went to discuss that Change, Vote Elections, Guild Barrack Recruiting, Kingdom Recruitng, Economic and Business Development, and plenty of other stuff i can't remember

The Mercenary Guild:
Idem Hunters: Ally
Went to discuss the peace agreement blocking PVP and Guild Wars Gobally.
I trailed along to tied up a loose end, but held back for something bigger than my sword's suggestions.

Private Corp: (Nobody know who these guys are, or where they came from, but i did confirm that the Capital Knight knew them somehow)
Private Corp went and had no intentions of talking. They went to M..s..r. C..y for a showdown.

When i finally arrived to M..s..r. C..y, first thing that popped up at the top of my screen, was a timer. All my stats increase by 50%, and skill Damage and usage increased by 50%, then walked outside and saw everybody fighting, and couldn't believe PVP was in the C..y, and outside the C..y. What popped up on my screen next, i wasn't ready to see that, and couldn't mentally install this was a Fight to the Defeat. A real fight with true meaning, that's was worth drawing my sword. Blue words scroll boldly across my screen, if you're defeated, your charc is no more. I went crazy with excitement i couldn't contain, and charged the GM Warrior who sentenced me to rot in a Prison, and didn't have proper manners to allow me visitors at least.
We fought for two 2 hours in real time, but finally defeated him, but new things kept popping up as battle grew hot: Finish them off... I was almost there to finish him off, but some Magican did a move a never saw before, taking half my HP, and i retreated only to learn her move was a area attack move, which hit the Blacksmith NPC, then it was all out war. The GM Warrior was revived by someone in the're party, and never got close to him again, because every Guild had other problems to worry about, excepted Private Corp. Monsters living in the city, and roaming outside went on offense, and was only doing finishing moves i never saw... We'll i won't be sharing the outcome of that Battle Ten years ago, but i say this, Capital Warrior and it's Allies did represent Planet Ragnarok in that War, and fought for the Ragnarok next Planet Generation. I was there myself. Excuse me enlightment, but the best da.mn Battle that pave the way for something. That's worth my sword's attendence, meaning. It's Gameplanet Tradition, and sometimes you have to fight for new beginnings.

#4's Reply: I agree. Special Event idems needs to hug value, and our research data adjourned declares, Travelers on Planet Ragnarok far and near ventures outside during such holiday celebrations. Market's bustling. Merchants overjoyed. Pubs crowded, Residence and Warriors in good strides, and willing to train. Music celebrations blooming throughout city streets.
Ship routes reestablished, which brings into play Factories and hiring Charc Employees. Ship-Captains recruiting Henchmen who proves themselves in Monthly Touraments, giving life to The Watchtower Guild in Alberta, (organization's doors now close), transporting goods again. New and Collectable, but the Shipcrew in motion of transporting goods can't warp abandoning their Captain, and Shipmates, more excitedly, transportation can take maybe 4,6,10 hours, depending on Factory output and Defending the goods. Those were my Game days moments of youth. I'm up in game age now, and possess only enough strength to get me from one town, to the next.

#5's Reply: Banning's too Good, but i'm not into that business anymore.

Now that City Guild Counsel Recruiting, and Kingdom Recruiting restrictions have been unsealed, but many Travelers may have been under the impression it's married to one department, i got some good news for you, train. You'll see why soon, but not too soon. Whether you choose to believe or not, (i share this not out of disrespect in any way the mind can think of), is your lost, not mine. :)

It's just that the whole paragraph seems like it's been run through google translator and back...twice. D: Very strange use of english. If you are not a native speaker, I commend you for tackling such big paragraphs, but you might want to try for some more clarity.

I sort of see what you're trying to say, but only barely. Much of it is far too hard to understand.

Ummm I hope everyone reads mine again. I like the fact that your a rp gamer but I think an issue a serious as this you should have just added your own happy or angry responce thus inforcing what I said or going against it.
And I am still happy you went and spoke up, even if you did avoid certain things.

It was a good try and everyone should give him credit. I am happy I havent gotten banned like last time for even saying such things about gravity.

Please everyone help me change gravity's mind about at least a few of my points!

Coloring exaspertion or enticing joyfulness that equals to gesture monuments, doesn't need blizzard prescription's employment, authoring, architecture of a question and an answer is a projection, cloaking an intersection reality that situates assumpions near the end of pier, to be decorated in the middle, where thoughtfulness is most nutritious.

RP, or no RP, though you give credit to unknown events,(which i should've said nothing in the first place, for truth's fragments is too wealthy), you competion RP as mockey. I wasn't finished, because pen moving faster than the brain is society's teachings, not I, but now i'm finish, and answered some of your puzzle occurence. The Capital Knights was right.

I wish you well in your adventures, and leave you a departing treat, but respond isn't needed. I was talking about different things that took place, and adding some my history Battles working for The Mercenary Guild, answering your telegram in highlighted areas my way. How did my telegram addition up to RP?..
