Thanks so much for posting a statement, Oda.
Also thank you shado for opening this thread - the case should be clear now.

I hope there won't be any actions that require a report again.

While the OP is fighting the wrong way, I believe mini-bosses should be FFA because their loots are more valuable than a lot of MVP's AND their respawn timer are often longer than MVP's. But I understand everyones point (And it's the rule), but that's my opinion.

Mini valks needs to be changed to be an MVP, and turn all of her existing drops into MVP rewards.

The time it took Oda to actually post an obvious reply here, which had been answered by everyone who posted before he replied, for this useless topic has slowed down many things.

1) Time for Oda to ban 10 bots.

2) Time for Oda to answer 2 tickets.

3) Time for Oda to answer 3 PM's.

4) Almost no time to get to drink his frappuccino in leisure.

Instead of arguing about whether or not they're FFA, we should propose a solution. I saw one other person post that the GMs should make the Mini Valks MVP/FFA. I agree.
I think Shado's original post gives enough valid reasons to make the monsters FFA. If not, then make Valhalla's Flower available through other means. Increasing the spawn/rate would even make things better. There is no need to repeat the same arguments over twenty times when we can just propose a compromise.

Didn't read it all but, I used to write questions for Q&A sessions that were sent to the GM team on old fansites and among them was this question and they denied the existance of minibosses, angelling was not FFA. (same applies to valks here)

and this from my guildforums around 2006!

In response to the question submitted to the iRO GM Team.

Your Question :
Is attacking miniboss type monsters such as angelling, devilling allowed when it is being held by another player who is not in party?

Answer :
Thank you for your email

Please be aware that there is technically no such thing as a "miniboss", only rare spawns which are to be treated as normal monsters. Attacking these monsters if another players has them is considered illegal.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact us again.

Personally, I agree with these 3 people. The flowers are about the only component for any god item in the game that is hard to obtain (if only because of the sheer number from such low spawn monsters), except for those that drop as castle treasures.

Depends how good the people camping them are and how many they are. If they have a good spread of timezones, they can have it covered for 24/7, and since there's no gravestones for them, it can be hard to try and get them when a guild has the times on them all.

On an almost completely irrelevant note, how the HELL did you manage to MVP valk with your AB? >.>;

Why, it's never changed. This question has been asked over and over and over - it's never changed. Just because I didn't have any more recent forum posts saved doesn't mean the info is incorrect, it's still an official answer and the RO rules have rarely changed.

Prob a server diff, I only kill them if they're out when the MVP is, and they generally are. I used to comp people who traded times and had them all day, and they get fed up after a while of comp, promise.

As for the other thing.... Magic.
Can't say magic, it wouldn't hit her. I am however, just really amazing and awesome.

Does anybody look at the reason behind the rule in this thread? Aside from shado and a couple others nobody seems to understand the original intent of the rule. Kill Stealing referred to the stealing of someones monster they were leveling from, causing them grief and preventing them from advancing their characters (this is a blatant continuous action, not a once in a while thing). Everyone else in this thread's interpretation of the rule is just as obsolete as the "no mob training" rule. These rules are out dated and no longer reflect the spirit of the game. Monsters like mini valks have competitive drops and competitive spawn times making them outside of the rules original intent.

Anyone who kills a mini should already have an advantage of knowing exactly when it is going to spawn again. If you lose to competition it is because of two things, 1) You cannot kill it fast enough and don't deserve the rewards, and 2) They work harder to find the spawn first, even when they don't know exactly when it will respawn. In both cases you can't complain about losing because you had a fair shot at killing it first.

God item components aren't meant to be easily farmed. Just saying.

Well then make EVERY SINGLE OTHER PIECE OF EVERY GOD ITEM that isn't a castle drop, the same difficulty to get as this one. There isn't a single other piece that is NOT easy to farm. That was my whole point to begin with. Just saying.

LOL Xellie. I seem to recall a guildmate AB who got MVP on valk cause the person doing all the damage died at the same time as he killed her, so I have my suspicions XD

After reading this post, I would have to say I agree with every point he makes. And really, you don't enforce the no kill-stealing rules on turn in maps. Why should it be enforced on these? Much of the kill stealing on TI maps is completely intentional and repetitive despite people's claims otherwise. If these rules are supposed to apply to ALL monsters, then enforce them on ALL maps, not just where you choose.

MVPs == FFA.

Other monsters that spawn on maps normally != FFA

Mini-Valkyrie != MVP
Therefore Mini-Valkyrie != FFA

If you want to make the argument (as you are in the OP) that the rarity of a monsters drops and the difficulty of obtaining the components for valuable items necessitates a change to the non-free for all status of rare spawn monsters that is something that is part of a larger discussion that could still happen here.
