And how, pray tell, does the removal of upgrading items affect the total amount of zeny on the server? Zeny doesn't disappear just because it isn't moving.

You know what happens when you jack up prices? You increase the demand for zeny, thus increasing the number of gold farming bots, thus increasing the speed at which zeny accumulates on the server, and thus causing more inflation.

Common sense, it's become so rare it should be considered a -_- superpower.

Well, sorry, I didn't know that I too can't name shops...

Only that the mods here could agree that setting up stores with the zeny cap to control market has to be stopped. The same person has been done this for days and the least players could do is to tell people about it, you're just doing more harm keeping those names at bay than letting us discuss this freely.

Peace out

Unfortunately moderators are only volunteers able to help keep the forums clean and shuttle information to the staff as needed. The staff have been made aware of this issue but it's up to them to decide what will or won't be done about the problem.

Okay, let's examine your argument here.

There are places in the world, especially during droughts, where there are serious food shortages. People, trying to profit off it, will drive hundreds of miles to neighboring countries, buy things like milk, eggs, rice and beans, then return home with it to sell at exorbitant prices. Literally trying to charge people 100 USD for a gallon of milk, and because people are desperate and starving, they will pay these prices, especially so in order to make sure their kids can eat.

What we learn from this is that the few people that can secure and sell a product are incredibly likely to, and in fact will, charge insane prices, and the only people that suffer for it are the ones paying said prices. If the product was more abundant, people selling said product would have far more competitive prices, such as the kind you find at a grocery store, where as in a situation where demand is greater than supply, those in need are the ones to compete, trying to out bid each other, allowing the seller far greater financial gain for far less effort.

Your argument however, seems to be that if all the food disappears all the money will too, completely disregarding the fact that people still need to eat. Does that about cover it? Do you even read what you write?

Your argument is true, people will naturally respond to supply and demand.

I've based my words from your fat man that eats more burgers.

I was talking about SERVER ZENY not one of your OP schemes, and I clearly said in my opinion.

You can have yours, i can have mine, get a life this is going nowhere

you dont get it and thats fine, but even so your idea will never be implemented because WP has to eat too so asking for upgrade events to stop has 0% chance of ever happening, aside from the fact that failing equipment doesnt make the zeny disappear, they just go to someone else. But the less items there are overall on the server (as you propose by making things fail at +4 while most stuff has to be +7/+9 to even be useful), the same zeny is going to compete for less items in the server, resulting in even higher prices.

Your idea is bad.

Why can't we ask ragial people to just ban such shops from the list? Apparently, they removed the cheap section "for the good of everybody". Why can't they do it for something people are ACTUALLY complaining about?

Ragial-kun can't check if a shop can be purchased from without attempting to make a purchase - and that's not something we would want. The only sane solution I see would be adding the ability to hide vendors with a user-created block list to the site itself. Sounds like it would take a decent amount of work to implement, but it would be nice.

Also gonna plug Ragnastats again because why not. Their Recently Sold section is interesting, especially right now:

http://ragnastats.com/sold?page=2

Some folks were saying GFSS weren't selling lately, I see plenty that just sold at 3/4m for [0]/[1].

Not saying they should do it pro-actively but through reports from the community as long as people who report show proof - the same way reporting bugs/abuse/etc to GMs work.

They are doing it for free. GMs are being payed to do their work. I don't know but giving them much more work is too much.

And there are tons of new accounts + chars.  :heh:

Damn way to headshot my idea. Could be paired with a zeny cap for level.

You will see rich people buy leveling services to make a bunch of characters. It's like in real life where some rich people hire accounts to do "tax management" and pay ridiculously low taxes.

No, no "rich" person ever will buy a leveling service, especially when, with a little bit of gear and know how, they can hit 99 in 2 hours. The people you see buying leveling services are under geared newbies who still think RO is hard, and are too lazy to do a bit of research on where, and how, to level.

So if WP does not know how duping is being done on ODIN, what makes you all think it is not happening here?

May be "rich" people I know are not that rich or they are too lazy.  :heh:
