Recently we banned a user for what we thought was No Delay usage with Dragon's Breath on the server during WoE.
However with some testing we were able to replicate his attack speed through copying his equipment then using a small stack of consumables and buffs. Due to this the user has been released. However because this level of cast speed is achievable through normal means this severely affects the Balance of WoE. To us this suddenly shifted from a cheating issue to a balance issue.
On Monday we will be adding a fixed cast delay* to the Sakray server for Dragon's Breath. This will be making it's way over to the live server the same week. So we want you to participate in the testing to make sure we don't go too far in balancing the skill. For this event please meet us at 1:30pm.
*It might be a different value we will be experimenting with it until it has the desired effect.
Typical retarded Gravity method of balancing the game.
1) Introduce broken item from lame brains in Korea who don't know how to balance a game
2) Builds centering around item's special effects are researched and put into usage
3) Someone complains, ban(s) meted out, GMs promise action
4) Ultimately, it's decided that a Skill must be nerfed (really!?)
5) wtf? go back and read line (1) again
Okay, okay. Let's say you nerf Dragon's Breath, and it stops the complaints. Everything's fine now right? Well, what happens when the Temporal Dex Boots start getting abused for other skills? Are you going to nerf each of those skills in turn as well?
In short, if you mess with Dragon's Breath, you're hurting all RKs, regardless of their gear; But if you fix the item that makes the skill broken in the first place, then you're only affecting the RKs who are using that item, rather than every. single. RK. Obviously, to anyone following along, the latter option (fixing the item) is the correct choice; not the former option ("fixing" *heh*, the skill).
