Right off the bat I have concerns with Paramarket containing some items.

Alca Bringer - This weapon is an MVP Loot that on our server, can be turned into 2 Certs with Eve Natalie. kRO sells these in Paramarket for 10m, Either Alca would need to be removed from Paramarket, or from Eve Natalie.

Boy's Cap - kRO sells these for 2m in Paramarket. They are normally made with 10 Tiger Footskins which only drop from Eddga. A Boy's Cap goes for anywhere between 60 and 100m here. It gives worthiness to farming Eddgas. Not to mention it's costume version obtained from my concern below gives +30% EXP and goes for an even higher price.

New World Coins - Mostly Mora and Splendide coins, Do these seriously need to be in the Paramarket? People farm Splendide Coins for Eclage Costumes and keeps these costumes at a good economic price. While the price for Mora coins is high even on kRO, they are also something that is heavily farmed here on iRO. I don't see a reason for these being in Paramarket. You can even make Mora AB Rings for 10 coins, and trade them back in for 10 coins here.

OCA - Pretty self explanatory. OCAs are a very commonly farmed item for many casual players to make a living on this game.

Coagulated Spells & Temporal Crystals - Also pretty self explanatory. A lot of players do OGH for these. I would probably care less about these being in the Paramarket if we had Nightmare OGH, but we don't..

Can we have consumables there at low price? 

 

Things that you could burn your zeny is fine imo. Also, things that are in demand but lacks supplies should be in the Para Market with a 200% price increase.

Overall, why must we have this update given to us? It is a blessing to a dead server, but a cancer to a lively one. Neither of our renewal servers are in need of this update. If you can find a way to give this to Classic then maybe it would have a place on iRO, but even then, I'm sure there are Classic players who would hate it existing.

 

One of the many things I enjoy about Ragnarok is the fact that practically every single item in the game is not handed out by NPCs. The economy is almost entirely set by the community itself. We don't need this changing 14 years after the games creation.

But here we are with this update coming to us, and slapping the community in the face by bringing a NPC market that offers the most farmed items by both hardcore and casual players.

The only good thing I see coming from this update is that all the sellers camping out in Eden will move over to Para Market. Which is still not a good enough reason to implement this.

May be wise to create 2 threads for Classic and Renewal.  Vastly different economies...i think....i dont play on classic just goin on speculation. right?

even if its in summoner that hat is really good  for newcomers to buy it in the para market + down price from the costume one and no more concessions

You pretty much got it right there. The Bots will beat the new players to the punch when it comes to buying things off Para Market. I don't see why a newbie player can't try hunting Eddgas also... In fact they might be the lucky one to strike a card and make their first billions off it and be able to afford better gears too! Win win!

 

Competition is always healthy for a game. Killing competition makes it boring though.

 

I prefer a game where people are actually playing the game to achieve something they want.. Not sit at NPCs waiting to camp and buy something then afk. Para Market kills off a LOT of incentive in doing PVM activities. :u

I agree.  Appeal of RO will dwindle further if this gets implemented regardless.

 

Today's FOTM mmorpgs have similar paramarkets by design, so the only things to farm are very rare dungeon drops that aren't guaranteed for your class etc.  This gets boring fast so I can't adhere to any basic commitment to these new games coming out because people want things handed to them from an NPC.  Not fun.

 

Personally, I prefer the dopamine injection from every mob with a chance for a card, instead of killing 100's of mobs and hope for the best.

In before people equate camping the Para Market equivalent to camping the MVPs. Except camping the Para Market is a lot easier than MVPs so RIP MVP hunting.

Considering how Dewata maps are still disconnected 2 years and going and some untranslated skills are still untranslated, I have absolutely ZERO faith in the CMs keeping the Para Market up to date with player vended prices. So let's be realistic; if implemented, the CMs will forget to update the prices and whatever prices set by the NPCs for farmed items will dictate the player vending market for those items. The CMs will effectively control the market prices on these items and no amount of griping will make them change things in a timely manner because we all know how "quick" they are to update anything in the game.

CMs/GMs vs. Bots. Whoever wins, we lose.

Game is already easy with summoner, and they want to make it even easier. After that people cry that Para Market is too competitive with bots, and they can't afford to buy it even at 2m. RIP game.

Bot buyers are the real and only problem here, socialist reforms are nice but you can't implement this kind of things with bot buyers

There is practically no reason to. Boy's Cap and it's costume counter part are expensive and harder to get into because vanity over functionality. If new players want the functionality they can easily buy NPC Goggles and +8 them for that.

Cheaper OCAs, but less profit for "newbie" players. More often than not, the more casual and less veteran players are the ones farming OCAs from OGH, Hazy, etc.

Exact same reason above. New players or casual players selling Coags or enchanted boots to the richer players who are too lazy to farm it themselves.
