Am playing this game time t time since the start and i just think there is only one solution to fix all the crap on official server.

 

JUST CHANGE THE MODEL : 3 € / month / account = huge drop of player base and bot.

 

It's not perfect ? find a better way with GM who didn't even bother to put the shops out of street

most of what you said isn't a big deal but that that is some epic fail even a kindergartener isn't dumb enough to do. I hope it's not true...........

 

vm cant even properly run photoshop or irfanview (while it "works" it's not as expected and adds a lot of retarded bugs!), how the do you think it will work with a server?

 

Aegis is unfortunately a Windows program, pony up for Windows on the servers or close the game.

You've already got your explaination for performance issues and people being logged into wrong accounts with that revelation there!

 

No offense but what type of experience have you had with running VM? Did you try to run them on a potato? I use them all the time, everything from a x86 version of android to different windows versions. And I run video games (games like mechwarrior 3 freak out on newer OS, mech suddenly flying into orbit etc) and other programs in those VM, many times with other programs and/or games running outside the VM on the main OS. And this is on my frankly old machine, running on a FX 8350 stock clock (4ghz) with 16gb (did it on 8gb but upgraded earlier this year) of ddr3. Hell even my newer 4 core 8 thread  I7-7700HQ laptop can run Virtual machines for other OS with programs without issue.

 

Course they've said they don't run their servers on VM but even if they did with a server with a high core count CPU, high amounts of ram, SSDs or high RPM Enterprise grade hard drives (prefer SSDs personally)  could handle multiple VM if properly setup without issue.

1. Both of my current machines are higher spec than both of yours, and I wouldn't be surprised if higher spec than iRO's servers. I only use ECC ram unless it's a laptop because Intel are complete and utter scammers with mobile xeon price and AMD laptops never support ecc despite all the cpus supporting it.

2. The 7 year old machine which had linux on it (probably antergos) was also higher spec than your AMD and probably on par with the laptop.

It may have been a bug with the specific VM program I used(dont remember which it was but it was one that supported more DX versions than the others), but resampling too large images didn't work the same in Irfanview as it does in windows and Photoshop had some intermittent off the wall "display" issues that even affected the output saved processed image(I was using heavy duty 3rd party filters that can't be done in GIMP).

 

That effectively meant I had to wait another 20 minutes to reprocess the image, after restarting the vm. Luckily the image didn't need any manual work, oh god!!!

 

VMs mostly work fine but they can still introduce problems and a heavier resource tax, they should be avoided unless completely necessary.

As far as I know no official server has ever had that as a function. Its always been a feature of emulated servers. I am going to directly ask what sets loot timers, it could be some weird thing where stuff goes away faster the more thats on the ground.

 

honestly it's baffling that an opensource software derived from a leaked sourcecode 10 years ago performs 10x better in almost every single way (besides a few mechanics) than the commercial software you are probably paying thousands of dollar for ...

 

And stop talking about how running stuff on VM is bad practice or w/e, no serious company is running anything on bare metal anymore.
