Shouldnt you just first check with Gravity if they will use it? It would close all that argue.

Hope that helps. I am willing to talk further if you want to see some of your work in-game.

I read that post - Calanor was talking about His wep designs;

Witch I have previously stated would be fine to work on, along with the maps -

But anything that requires extensive coding would likely not be accepted. - again; I believe he should discuss this further with a GM before taking the leap to doing extensive coding and wasting his time.

- I could be wrong; It's happened before - But what harm is it to make sure before spending countless hours coding?

I will play a little game with you by answer you post directly.

I don't see why people can't just shut their mouths and watch what true passion for a game can do. What if he really does get it finished, and gravity decides to use it? How dumb will all of you feel then?

You have no idea how happy I am if GRAVITY decides to use it. I want GRAVITY to accept his work. I want to have the same level of intelligent as Steven Hawking. I want to be a billionaire. I want a lot of thing, but does that happen? The reality is different. There is a gap between the want and the reality. You want a lot of thing, but how many of those want become a reality?

What if he really has the potential to do it,

I have never doubt his abilities or potential. I have said that before, too. What I do not trust is the reality. It is cruel and has no mercy.

and all of you pessimists try to tell him otherwise, and he decides not to do it. In any scenario, you need to just sit back and watch what he can do. What is it going to hurt for you to shut your mouth for a little while so he can work, and show you what he can actually do.

Again, I have never doubt his ability. If he actually wish his project to be implement, he has to think twice before he does anything because it will most likely be a waste of time. If he does not want his project to be implement, or if he only want to treat this as a case of study, then everything is fine. If he just want to treat this project as a case of study, he does not need to tell anybody. The fact is he publicly tell everyone, and that means he hold some hope that his project will be accepted and implement. That is what I do not want him to hold on because it is unrealistic.

If he can get enough done, I'm sure a GM or one of the Dev team will come by, see it, and decide to hire him, with or without pay, to work on this project.

I have seen enough people saying the same thing in real life, but I have never seen anything like this come true. The probability of this to happen is non-existent. I have never see any company wants to put their fate on the hand of an outsider unless they are forced to do so by the government. There are many areas, which could go wrong in his project, and GRAVITY certainly does not want to pick up any liability.

If the day comes and he can't get done, or they decide not to use it, that would be the day to say something. Not right as he starts, so you just get in his way of getting his project done.

If you see a person stand on the bridge, would you stop him before or after he jump? He certainly does not require your help after he jump. We tried to make him think twice because we know his project is a dead-end. His project will not be implemented in this ROSE server. The only possibility for his work to be accepted is the private server. If that is the case, ROSE may lose more players to the private server, and I am 100% certain that is not his intention.

I don't interpret what ChampPower writes as trolling. He's just trying to warn Feuer not to believe in unrealistic goals. We're not trying to make him stop working on his project, but simply warning him not to keep his hopes too high. If he's doing all that work mainly for fun and to practice, then it's all fine. However, there is a possibility that Gravity won't accept his work and I believe the workload is too great to be finished before the deadline. Awesome if he can prove us wrong :thumb:.

Classes & Skills:

Spoiler

If you need help with this or anything else feel free to pm me. I am imaginative, can draw idea (in paint :thumb:) and have already been thinking about more classes and their skills.

They won't/can't even accept community creations other than load screens.[/b]

Not even that. I made a loading screen and it has yet to be even looked at by a dev :(

I have -11 in this topic because I dare to look the issue straight forward while none of you able to solve the issues which I raise.

Suck it up. Canehda get's -11 on almost Every thread he posts on no matter how good or bad his post is. You'll live.

So instead of continuing to tell Feur why his plan wont work or get finished on time, why don't you and him volunteer to pitch in and help Feur get his project done faster. If ChampPower would like, he can bring this thread to the attention of a dev and ask him about it himself and post the feedback. And you, Zayin, are an amazing artist. You could easily do concept drawing for Feur to program.

There are so many "specialists" in this community, such as pickup for quests, ladypsyber to keep a critical eye on things, and countless other community members that are capable of (and even exceptional at) programming and concept art. We could easily turn this into a community project, or we could waste Feur's precious time by making him respond to posts of why it wont happen, making him miss his deadline. Personally, I've seen his work and I believe he could pull it off alone in the amount of time he's given himself, but I'm sure he wouldn't turn away a helping hand.

I'd love to involve myself in such a project, but unfortunately I don't want to work for a for-profit company without being paid. I'd just feel stupid doing so. I'd only help if it were a volunteer project like Linux. That's too bad because I need practice in the field, especially in programming :thumb:.

Of course, I will live. I just want to point out that the reputation has no value if people cannot explain why they +1 or -1 other people's post. As of now, I lost 31 reputation points in this thread without a single explanation or pointing out where I was wrong. Some players in here told me that I am a biased person, which I prove them wrong. In addition, I also turn the accusation right back at them as they cannot explain why they negative my post.

First, I would not want him to have an unrealistic hope. He will be severely disappoint later on when he realize that his project is a wasted of time. Second, do you really honestly thinking the DEV Team is not aware of our debate after 4 page long? They do, and they chose to ignore it. Do you know what that mean when they chose to ignore it? Is that answer your question? If I can make the different, I would, but they will not listen to anybody. Heck, I believe I can guess what they are thinking because I was debating with them for a long time in the past. I have a long history with them, but i cannot disclose those information without risk of being ban from forum, so you can just say that I am suck.As the result, I am unable to help out.

First, we do not like to work for the project, which has no possibility of success. Second, we do not want to work for GRAVITY for free only to get yell, threat, and ignore.

Champ if you honestly think I'm arrogant enough to let myself think that if i do it, it will end up in game 100%, you're the fool, not me.

I'm going to ask politely that you just leave this thread alone, as everyone here is arguing with you or Canehda [which he's actually being pretty cool right now, ty Canehda] instead of posting concepts, or questions about what I'm doing.

If you honestly think it's a waste of time, simply say so and quit wasting your own time by arguing that point.

Hi Feuer. I support your creative efforts to possibly make this game better - and I wish I could do more to help you other than saying that I like your ideas.

My suggestion is that if there are people who doubt your abilities or question your nature, then it shouldn't be taken offensively. But instead these criticisms should be used as motivation for you to complete your work.

Honestly I don't even understand why people would direct such negative energy your way because these are the same folks who have been wishing and waiting for change in this game for quite a long time. This is probably one of the best chances for someone to create change for this game as well. For that reason alone, I believe that everyone who wishes change for the better - should take advantage of this opportunity.

Everyone here should support this man and his efforts, nomatter the odds. Or else, the naysayers might just receive what they wish for - the same old boring Rose that we've all wasted our lives on.

+1 here since I'm out of +1s

Turn the negative to positive, help him out instead of bursting the bubble. Realistic doesn't mean we be negative, if you already know his potential hurdles, try to help him understand it and then solve it.

This whole concept looks like a huge task (maybe too big) but it's Feuer's free time he will waste in something he will have fun with.
Gravity might be stiff and it might seem that they are not accepting work from outside but they do.
Possible issues come with "how to implement this with our tools/pipeline"

Creating new map (Feuer, I don't know what tools you have) in some 3d program might be a waste of time as Gravity might be unable to use it if it's made in some common 3d formats, BUT they can use textures (terrain tiles), layout ideas, environment meshes (trees, building rocks, all that junk), monsters with their animations and textures, armors, new skill animations, whole skill/balancing/whatever ideas etc.
Sometimes it is easier to make something from scratch than trying to import/convert/modify someone elses work.

Yes, there is a risk of "copyright issues" but sometimes you can't trust even your own employees (there was some drama years ago because S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game had some textures and stuff that was "borrowed" from other games). There is also issue of naming, similarity in game features etc that someone can come out of his cave and press charges on you because "it looks like something he did".
So, yes, I can see champs point and "fear" and what he said wasn't just rubbish, but more like very cautious point of view (someone has to point bad sides/possible problems),
although it IS a little bit too pessimistic.

I say, let's see what Feuer can do and support his good will and hope that he will make some decent stuff and that as many of his work will be implemented in game.
Personaly, I think it is too big project in such small amount of time but again, why shooting him down before he even started? He might be a superproductive creative person who IS able to make all this in time he said he will. Even if he manages to do 20% of his plan it would still be a nice contribution.
What I would like to see from community is some decent review of his progress and point out every little thing that doesn't look good enough to fit this game so things could be fixed (don't just say "I want this" just because you are starving for updates)

I recommend that Feuer gets in touch with CM/devs so they can discuss things in private about what can be accepted and what not.

Lol WOW! Someone is actually trying to help this game with a HUGE task HE wants to accomplish WASTING HIS FREE TIME, and all you can do is bash him it's gonna be a waste of time?? Seriously??

You guys suck. Jealous he can do all this stuff and you can't? We should all support him just like we did with Rescudo, I saw Feuer's 3d concepts and they are so hawt, you guys do nothing to make this game better yet u B) complain when someone wants to change things for the better.

I see people playing and not giving a crap about what happens, not suggesting a single idea to make this game better, and then bashing people who want to help. Freeloaders? Kids? In either case get the hell out of this thread if you can't do anything but flame.

You've got my support dude, stop caring about those retards telling you it's a waste of time. Haters gonna hate.

Go for it! I'm sure you'll do a great job! ;D

This my suggestion on my very first comment.
Coding a legit official game online.. means you must have an access for mechanic/technical game system that only the devs know.
If i have that access, i could destroy an official game online in a minutes.

He has already said he cannot move to their main HQ due to having a family in previous threads.

They do not have to impliment his idea 100%. Borrowing his designs and textures he himself created could more than suffice as well as new map designs.

This is a representive shot in the dark from the community to actually get acknowledgement from Gravity/Devs to realize their community is trying and that they are the ones hindering themselves, not us. We suggest many things, we get few replies, and even less action done.

This attempt by the topic starter is a reply to the Dev's challenge of sending work in and getting it installed in game. If Truckbot and Sportbot can be in the game, why can't his designs and work.

I can see Naruto, Yugioh, Transformers, and now Harry Potters running around in game but not creative works by a freelancer who stays with the actual theme of the game?

To borrow a phrase from the book Princess Bride, "Inconceivable."

goodluck!!! B)

i'm just wondering if rose is really that sensitive for bugs or what...
i mean, i don't know about codes but, from the other game i play, Perfect World, a little tweaking on files on the folders can make my character like for example, i can have the hair or look of the other job that's only exclusive to them... just copying from folder 1 and pasting to folder 2, no bugs or errors at all...

i don't know about those coding stuff they're talking but for me it'll be a waste if your work will only go to private servers... ;)

edit: and... for me... it's the thought that counts... you really love the game that you want to waste your time to make it more exciting for other players â?¥

Its already wednesday and still not a single reply from any GRAVITY employee here. Lately they seem to ignore nearly everything posted in ROSE forums.

Flaming, Insulting, Mocking, Harrasing

You know what's funny?

You're probably a new player who doesn't know B) and already talks a lot of crap. I've been here since pre-evo, I've supported this game with my real money paying for the monthly fee back when it was p2p, I've suggested hundreds of ideas to make this game better and I've never seen anyone as rude as you, especially when it's out of place. Feuer is just TRYING to come up with some good ideas and concepts DEVs could use later on and all you can do is flame him.

We need more people like Feuer, and less arrogant kids like you. I'm not acting smart or anything, I'm just trying to back him up because you are flaming him so bad without a damn reason.
