Hello there everyone and welcome to the foundry. This is the place for players and production team to brainstorm on projects that will improve and expand our pre-Renewal Loki server. We've had lots of fun developing these things alongside the community and we're making a push to get a new wave of development going. To keep things organized, we're "cleaning house" in the foundry by archiving older threads and getting new ones started.

Finished Projects:
Revitalizing Prontera by introducing useful NPCs to make it as important to the community as the Eden Group
Asgard Training Village was added as an expansion to the training grounds to help players get from novice to first class and beyond.
Cooking Update: Caterer in Prontera and Eden group can break 30 minute foods into 5x5minute "snacks" so even if your character dies you can just use another snack.
Gem stones added to tool dealers sell list so you don't have to convert gems into other gems just to get jems. Jems.
Customized monster spawns to add usefulness to more maps around Midgard
In Progress Projects:
Asgard Class guide NPCs- we will be having the warper NPCs in Asgard village (they send you to where you turn into your 1st job) offer advice for gear, stats and leveling
Challenge Dungeon is our place to introduce a rotating rogues gallery of very tough monsters with tough AI and increased drop and exp rewards
Expanding Jumping Janeway NPCs leveling quests to go above the current level
Classic Test server which will allow us to test before implementing on the live server and run USRC type tournaments with Pre-Renewal mechanics
Shelved or Inactive Projects:
Ulfberht Weapon System: this was a system of new weapons that could be broken down to create enchants that could be used on other Ulfberht weapons
We had a project to introduce new usable items for alchemist class characters as well as new types of food, but the skills that create foods or that use items like bombs and potions were "baked into" the client and couldn't be changed to another item.
Restricted item PVP this was put on hold due to us not having an available map type that could be assigned to prevent certain items from being usable there.
What we are able to change: Currently we are able to add maps from Renewal to Classic, as well as new quests. We can add NPCs and non-headgear equipment as long as they use a pre-existing pre-Renewal sprite.
What we aren't able to change (yet): We cannot add new monsters or headgears due to the way that the game client reads sprite data. Enchants do not display on enchanted items. We cannot add a after use delay to items shorter than 1 second. New game modes, like a Woe Training Edition type non-trans class PVP are difficult or not currently possible to implement as we have a limited number of map types available. These map types set the rules of what skills, items and character are allowed on a map
Future goals: We are proposing to our development studio in Korea to get Loki working on a Renewal client, with Pre-Renewal mechanics. This would make it easier to provide additional development support to Loki and we would benefit from the quality of life improvements that Renewal has received over the years.
We're working towards getting Classic development back on track after several months spent on making the Thor migration happen and cleaning up the issues resulting from that migration. Loki population has grown with players from pRO and from the efforts of Classic community members to raise awareness of our Pre-Renewal server.
